The Hobbit Hole XXXII - Sweet is the sound of falling rain
The Freeper Hobbit Hole Blog ^ | December 1, 2006

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

Sing hey! for the bath at close of day
That washes the weary mud away!
A loon is he that will not sing:
O! Water Hot is anoble thing!

O! Sweet is the sound of falling rain.
and the brook that leaps from hill to plain;
but better than rain or rippling streams
is Water Hot that smokes and steams.

O! Water cold we may pour at need
down a thirsty throat and be glad indeed;
but better is Beer, if drink we lack,
and Water Hot poured down the back.

O! Water is fair that leaps on high
in a fountain white beneath the sky;
but never did fountain sound so sweet
as splashing Hot Water with my feet!

I ordered new glasses. In a week or two I'll have a new set as close to my old set as possible.

Glasses are 'spensive, man...

Yeah...I still haven't done anything with my prescription, partly for that reason.

Here's a tip.

Gitcherself one of them Pledge dusters. It comes with a small bottle of spray that hooks into the handle and a couple of dusting pads.

It says to discard the pads when your done. Don't! They wash up just fine in the washing machine. I don't dry them and I don't put anything like fabric softener in with them. Just take them out and fluff them up and let them air dry.

I've used mine over and over again. You can even buy a big bottle of the "All Surface" cleaner that comes with it.

They work great!! I mean they dust like crazy and make short work of dusting!

You know what? I really need to dust and I haven't got a very efficient dusting system - I have a ceiling duster but I usually just use clothes. I might just stop and get me one of those on the way home.

I would never buy one because I figured a rag and some dust polish was all I really needed. But Joshua talked me slap in to this thing...he was gung-ho to dust with it...saw it on a commercial.

You know he will actually see me pick the thing up and take it away from me to dust! He loves it! Now I just go behind him a bit and hit the stuff he missed or was too short to get.

My electronics stay dusted! The area behind my tv...dusted!

Heh!

Just don't say anything to Pledge about washing the pads...they may start making them more flimsy!

Heh...until I get into the habit of vacuuming a lot, dust is the least of my worries. But thanks for the tip!

For some reason I'm kind of in decorating mode. Thinking of hitting Goodwill this weekend to see if I can find some more inexpensive pictures and such, and maybe finally put towel racks of some sort in the bathroom.

After I get more organized, that is.

:)

Today, on coming home, I noticed out the corner of my eye an unacceptable amount of dust on my headboard (note to self: "espresso"-brown paint only looks good if it's kept dust free)...

So, I meant to change the sheets anyway so I stripped the bed and then dusted the headboard with a pillowcase :)

I got about five inches cut off my hair on the way home from work. It took Talon about three seconds to notice. Has the Mrs noticed the beard yet?

I swear I am not making this up.

I went by thegym on the way home. When I walked in, she did a double take and said "your face looks cold."

I said it was probably just red from being in the sauna.

She didn't say anything else.
