It was a great chance to see some really old actors have another shot at a first run movie. A lot of the stars have died since the movie was made.
Don Ameche, Hume Cronyn, Jessica Tandy, Gwen Verdon, Jack Gilford, Maureen Stapleton, Herta Ware...
Don Ameche was the voice of Shadow in Homeward Bound, but he died before the second one. He was also in Trading Places with Eddie Murphy and Dan Akroyd.
I know where you've been. Thanks fer stoppin' by theblog.
Izzit Friday yet?
fours
Good job!
Good morning! The wind is really howling out there this morning!
Somebody from Virginia stopped by mine!
Also Namibia and Austria.
Why would anyone in Namibia be interested in us putzing with an old VW? Do they even have VWs in Namibia?
Where the heck is Namibia, anyway?? LOL
We had these hugh red bells when I was a kid...hung them on the front of the house.
It always felt like Christmas when we hung them...
I'm hoping I'll find some someday...
We didn't put up the orange bulbs this year. We put up the orange strand last year because (if you recall) we thought Steve was going to graduate that December and then they had the big meeting and Dr. Jackass told him his paper wasn't "thesis worthy". Anyhow, we kept the orange ones up and plugged them in when he actually did graduate in May.
Now we're back to a simple strand of multi-colored bulbs.
Read more here.
I don't even recall the premise...but maybe I'll check it out one of these days...
I'll bet you're right!
I'll say...the main religion is Lutheran!
You mean it's not? Darn, there go my hopes.
It's not a bad movie; one of the ones in the 80's that showed the aliens as wonderful, peaceful creatures, and most humans as stupid and grasping. But, if you can get past that particular political message, it's a pretty cute movie.
Don Ameche was GREAT in that movie!
A popular decoration this year is the HUGH foil stars that folks are attaching to their home's siding. Some are red, some are gold, and they're pretty! Our neighbor up the street has one on either side of her front door, in between the first and second floors.
Are you talking about the red plastic bells that lit up? We used to have some of those, but I haven't seen them in years.
Target does have some larger red plastic bells and balls for sale. It may not be what you're looking for, but they might be similar.
And if you can catch them after Christmas, they give pretty signficant discounts.
Cocoon is a really sweet movie Rosie...
Get it on your netflix!
Can do. You guys wanna watch it sometime soon?
Sure... we'll watch it with ya... :~) It's been awhile since I've seen it!
FWIW, we have 8 performances left and I'm ~still~ committed to not doing the show next year.
That's progress...I think...
The first step is admitting that you have a problem. ;-)
