The Hobbit Hole XXXII - Sweet is the sound of falling rain
The Freeper Hobbit Hole Blog ^ | December 1, 2006

Posted on 12/01/2006 12:55:15 PM PST by ecurbh

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

Sing hey! for the bath at close of day
That washes the weary mud away!
A loon is he that will not sing:
O! Water Hot is anoble thing!

O! Sweet is the sound of falling rain.
and the brook that leaps from hill to plain;
but better than rain or rippling streams
is Water Hot that smokes and steams.

O! Water cold we may pour at need
down a thirsty throat and be glad indeed;
but better is Beer, if drink we lack,
and Water Hot poured down the back.

O! Water is fair that leaps on high
in a fountain white beneath the sky;
but never did fountain sound so sweet
as splashing Hot Water with my feet!

Thanks Rosie...me too. She was a great tree climber (Gunner saw to that) which gave me some comfort, but then the trees were covered in ice and she might not have been able to climb so well. I don't know. She was/is a nice cat.

They still haven't gotten the door open?

Oh dear...that does make for a tricky day!

Ungh...how's this for embarrassing? I dropped my grocery list at work as I was leaving, so one of the guys found it, typed it up and paged it to me. I guess that shouldn't be embarrassing, but grocery shopping just seems kinda personal to me.

...At least there weren't any feminine products on this one...

Well...he's about retirement age and has kids my age and is married. He was just trying to be nice, as he always does, and it did come in handy - I'd have forgotten half of it otherwise. But I'm still mildly embarrassed.

Nope. Thing is, we have protocols for this kind of thing (sorta). There's an official point of contact who's supposed to take charge. He comes in later than most of us, but also stays later than most of us, too. So we call him at 0630. "Dude, the door is broken." "Ok, I'll be right in." Then 0730 rolls around, "You coming in?" "I'm heading out the door right now." Mmmmkay, he shows up a little after 0900. He lives 30 min from work.

Some people!

*sigh*

And then there's the fact that a certain someone spread a rumor that I was sick before I was - a whole bunch of us came down with that thing on Friday, but supposedly I was sick before that, when I was setting up computers all early this week, and the fact that I did so got everyone sick.

So everyone was giving me only half-teasing dirty looks.

I didn't do it. I'm another innocent victim.

Just show up with a big can of Lysol and spray everything. If they complain about the smell, you can offer to cough on them.

I Lysol my office every February.

It's just another thing that shouldn't bother me, but does. She made it sound like I was hacking into every keyboard as I plugged 'em in. Typhoid Rosie.

I'm more careful than that. And I don't know who started it, but if'n others came down with it before I did, I don't think it was me.

RE 24: Well, certainly didn't see ~that one~ coming.

Spoilers ahead:

1) So, who is the blonde chic in the car, and do we know her?

2) Is the teenager really Jack's kid?, and

3) Chloe said to Morris "Why do people I know always die?" I think she signed his death warrant, and finally...

4) Don't you think we'll see Dr. Bashir again, or do you think he's done?

So, there's that.

a buddy of mine has a real STG... his dad took it off'n a dead SS Grenadier... still in great condition... and completely off'n the grid...

An uncle of mine, and now one of his kids, may have one of those, too. I saw it once, started asking a lot of questions, and he took it away from me.
