The Hobbit Hole XXXII - Sweet is the sound of falling rain
The Freeper Hobbit Hole Blog ^ | December 1, 2006

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

Sing hey! for the bath at close of day
That washes the weary mud away!
A loon is he that will not sing:
O! Water Hot is anoble thing!

O! Sweet is the sound of falling rain.
and the brook that leaps from hill to plain;
but better than rain or rippling streams
is Water Hot that smokes and steams.

O! Water cold we may pour at need
down a thirsty throat and be glad indeed;
but better is Beer, if drink we lack,
and Water Hot poured down the back.

O! Water is fair that leaps on high
in a fountain white beneath the sky;
but never did fountain sound so sweet
as splashing Hot Water with my feet!

Shouldn't he be propping that thing on his shoulder instead of holding it under his arm?

That snow picture was taken the next day, but it still doesn't have too many tracks...no one is out walking around and even our front yard is still pretty smooth.

Or at least it was...school starts back up today and since we live right across the street from the school bus stop, I'm thinking the kids might not be able to resist the smooth open snow.

We have the opposite situation. Our truck quit working...Steve took thevan! LOL We can't get the truck out of the driveway to take it to get it fixed. It's in the garage, but the driveway is a solid sheet of ice.

Maybe it'll melt off today...supposed to be in the fifties!

I was changing Joshua's bandaid last night and told him he was gonna have a tattoo back there...you know how pencils leave a little black mark? I said "I won't say anything, I'll leave it to you to explain it to your wife when you grow up." Joshua said "I'm not going to explain it!" I said "Won't she wonder when she sees it?" Joshua said "Why would my wife be looking at my bottom?"

I just let it go at that.

Thank you!

You know, if we're flamboyant, we could really go nuts on the car, but we're not...we want to do it as cheaply as possible. Did you know that you can use old metal computer cases for patches?

So we're constantly on the lookout for scrap sheet metal! LOL

Shouldn't he be propping that thing on his shoulder instead of holding it under his arm?

Well, according to John Kerry and Charlie Rangel he's not smart enough to know how to use it anyway.

Wha? I missed it!

I'm amazed you missed it. I woke up at 3 and looked out could see the blue lights from my porch. There were at least three cop cars, blue lights and spotlights moving around, and because the fog, sound was traveling and I could hear them talking and hear their radios. I walked out and apparently a car had spun out and hit the ditch by our mailboxes.

If that didn't wake you up, I'm surprised the tow truck didn't when it came, because he pulled it out backwards, around and turned right by your place, obviously dragging something and the wheels weren't turning so it was loud. He pulled it around into a big open spot at the store and dropped it so he could turn around and pull it the other direction before pulling away...

Was a lot of activity for 3 am :~)

Huh. Well, I vaguely remember hearing an engine being gunned, but I'd swear it was right after I went to bed - maybe ten thirty or so.

Don't remember nuffin after that.

Sounds like I missed quite a show.

My dog is pathetic, that's what he is. ;-)

He was probably flat on his back on the couch. Very good guard dog, that.

Mailboxes? Eek!

Well...if it did take 'em out, maybe it'll be a good excuse for me to get a new one. Mine leaks.
