Heh... now that's funny.

Ugh. Got an extra hour's sleep this morning and it didn't really help. I feel lousy.

Abandoned cars...

This is only a couple of miles up the freeway from my office. Towards Issaquah.

Ohmygosh, Ramius!! What is it with your weather??

The wind is just howling here...howling like the big windies we usually get in the spring. Even our weather guy said this was unusual windy weather.

Disaster Relief is on standby...bad weather (ice) is expected this weekend and we may be mobilized. I contacted the CDTS (where we've been attending since our old church joined the CCMM) and let them know I'm available. Steve has MLK Day off.

Oklahoma has a history of some really killer ice storms.

Just a little snow... it probably wouldn't be a big deal, but yesterday the storm was supposed to have passed already. Then just an hour before rush hour it starts snowing like crazy, and everybody hits the road before the sand/de-icer trucks have had a chance to get out.

So... it's a skating rink....

Hardly any snow to speak of. Was it a lot of glare ice and folks just got caught in it? That happened to me once when we had our old conversion van. I was heading up a hill, when the lady in front of me got nervous about meeting a bus at the top of the hill coming in the opposite direction. I was yelling "Don't stop!", but she did, and she and I BOTH started sliding backwards down the hill. Fortunately, she stopped before she hit me, but there she and I were, on an incline, and the person behind the bus, saw the incident and slid into a snow bank at the top of the hill before she got into the downward slide. It took us the better part of an hour to get us all out. About 15 minutes after freeing ourselves from the ice, it began to warm up and rain, and the ice all melted away. Figures.

I've seen lots of pictures like that on the news this morning.... abandoned cars on hills. Then the snowplows came and walled them in.

They just showed one of the viewer weather photos I sent in on the news :~)

Heh... they don't look very happy either... I'll probably have some do-gooders on my case about them.

They've been showing pictures that viewers sent in, I figured mine were better than some of the ones they were showing, so I sent them some. :~)

Now that they're celebrities you're going to get creepy stalkers and paparazzi around.

Okay...I'm only pinging Jen 'cause she was the last to post.

Tomorrow night is the cast party for our Christmas show. A local recording group has redone an album from the 70s (not gonna give too much info online). But think early 70s. We're getting an "exclusive" concert.

Wife and I are doing food and decorations (mostly table stuff). We have a disco ball and those slinky mylar curtains for the door (couldn't find door beads in time).

But we have to decorate the serving tables and 15 "bistro" tables. We've got tablecloths, etc. covered. And for the bistro tables I've downloaded images from the 70s that I'm going to copy on 70-ish color paper. Thing like movie logos, headlines, etc.

But, we need to do something for the center of the table. We can't use candles so we thought about glowsticks. It needs to be 1) easy 2) quick 3) readily available supplies and 4) cheap.

Discuss...
