The Hobbit Hole XXXII - Sweet is the sound of falling rain
The Freeper Hobbit Hole Blog ^ | December 1, 2006

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

Sing hey! for the bath at close of day
That washes the weary mud away!
A loon is he that will not sing:
O! Water Hot is anoble thing!

O! Sweet is the sound of falling rain.
and the brook that leaps from hill to plain;
but better than rain or rippling streams
is Water Hot that smokes and steams.

O! Water cold we may pour at need
down a thirsty throat and be glad indeed;
but better is Beer, if drink we lack,
and Water Hot poured down the back.

O! Water is fair that leaps on high
in a fountain white beneath the sky;
but never did fountain sound so sweet
as splashing Hot Water with my feet!

[sip]

Right in time for rush hour.

It just started but this looks like the real deal.

I wanna go do donuts in the parking lot. :-)

That's what I do when I have to fly SW. (*shudder*)

Heh. They changed it to 24 hours before so now you don't have to stay up 'til midnight.

Okay...boarding could be better, but when things go wrong, the Southwest people are great at getting them right again. They've held up flights just so people could make their connections.

I guess I'm biased because I fly American so much. I like how they took out a row of seats and redistributed the room to give everyone a couple extra inches. I also like how they have power ports for laptops.

I guess my recent SW flight was tainted by the fact I had to share it with two of my uber-chief-muckety mucks:

"Hey, 'Lil. Fancy seeing you here."
"'Morning Dr. Muckety, Mr. Muck."
"What brings you out here?"
"Work."
"You should have stopped by and say Hi, you could have come to the holiday party."
"Uh, we were uprange... working... in the dirt."
"Yeah, we got caught in that detour, too. We had to drive on a dirt road."
"Wow. How about that. We were *in* the dirt up at such and such."
"Never been there."
"You need an SUV."
"I don't go anywhere where I can't take my CoolCar."
"Then I guess you're not coming to any of our tests, then. *grin*"
"That's why I have employees."
"Mmmkay."

Well see! That's where the cattle call thing would come in handy.

"Gee, I was just running behind and I had to take the first seat available."

Then you wouldn't have had to sit with them.

Heh. I didn't mention that this conversation was while we were waiting in the security line. They sat together. I went to the back of the plane. They're nice guys. I like/respect both of them for the most part. (and that's saying something)

Oh....The Line...

I started flying Southwest because they were the only airline that had non-stops and direct flights between KC and RDU. Now they have neither. :( But they are really good about checking connections for you

I wannit. It's pretty, it's small, and it has pretty much anything I could want in a portable gadget all rolled into one.

But I don't have six months and five or six hundred bucks lying around. Ungh.

My Verizon contract is up next month, and I guess I'll probably be renewing with them. No iPhone few me.

Sister-in-law was pretty adament that you can't use those unless you aren't checking baggage. Didn't want me to print any passes for them. I think she's wrong, but I dunno if I should just go ahead and print theirs or what...

And so it begins.

Agree they're purty. I just would have zero use for it because 1) it has a camera and I can't have that at work and 2) I don't call *anyone* on my cell.

I wouldn't mind a laptop designed like that.

How often does she fly? Mebbe you can check them in but they can get their boarding passes at the counter when they check their bags.

I've started flying JetBlue when I can. LOVE those little tv screens at each seat. Sure makes the time fly if there's a delay.;o)

I sure hope that they add Gulfport to their destination list in the future!
