The Hobbit Hole XXXII - Sweet is the sound of falling rain
The Freeper Hobbit Hole Blog ^ | December 1, 2006

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

Sing hey! for the bath at close of day
That washes the weary mud away!
A loon is he that will not sing:
O! Water Hot is anoble thing!

O! Sweet is the sound of falling rain.
and the brook that leaps from hill to plain;
but better than rain or rippling streams
is Water Hot that smokes and steams.

O! Water cold we may pour at need
down a thirsty throat and be glad indeed;
but better is Beer, if drink we lack,
and Water Hot poured down the back.

O! Water is fair that leaps on high
in a fountain white beneath the sky;
but never did fountain sound so sweet
as splashing Hot Water with my feet!

She was still yowling when I took her in, though. *Sigh*

The people at the vet's say she's rather mellow while she's there.

Found the putty knife! It's more 4" than 6"...oh well. Might as well bring the joint tape and wall repair fabric while I'm at it.

Sounds good! I have Cocoon, for one. Should also have "While You Were Sleeping"...which is a bit of a chick flick, but a nice Christmas time kinda movie anyhow.

Ungh...remind me next year that while instant gratification is nice even for gifts you get others, it isn't worth going to *town*. What a morning...

Don't take this personally...I hate you.

Heh! I"m not serving 24 at Christmas, either! SirKit put our wreath on the door while I was up at the Church putting bows on wreaths and decorating the sanctuary. That wreath and a little 4' tree are the only decorations I have up for Christmas this year. All of our Christmas stuff is in the trailer. Still wanna get stockings out, but that will be it. So I didn't have that much to do, though I've still been doing a lot of running around this week for various and sundry things, mostly food. I'm looking forward to wrapping gifts while listening to "A Festival of Lessons and Carols" on the radio tomorrow morning. Clare and I don't have to be at Church until 3:15 for the 4:30 Christmas Vigil Mass, and I don't have to go early to help decorate, because Father Mike let us do most of it today, God Bless him!

Tomorrow evening will be busy because after the Vigil Mass, we'll come home and do BLT's for supper, then rest before we head out at 10:30 for Midnight Mass.

I think I'm done with town for the foreseeable future.

Then there was also the part where I ended up in Tenino, but that's beside the point.

Home now, though. BTW, my brother sent me a package, so I went to the store to see if they had it yet. They didn't, but they had one for you guys, so I set it by your grill when you weren't home. Just wanted to let you know so you don't think you have USPS folks climbing the gate. ;-)

How did you end up in Tenino? :~)

Avoiding Fred Meyer.

Kinda.

I went there first, again didn't make it any further than the parking lot before panicking, and when I was heading out, I decided to see what would happen if I kept on Capital Blvd. for...well, awhile. Got back on the interstate at, I think, Exit 88.

No point to that, really. I was just fleeing. ;-)

Ended up getting the watch at Target, which was only sort of insane.

We went to Fred Meyer, it wasn't that bad, except the goth kids that looked like they'd used a meat grinder to cut their hair, and the guy who was walking around singing loudly, by himself...

I still don't have anything for my niece, but I dunno if I'm going to do anything about that. *sigh*

Town is skeery right now.

Well...in my case I only have the one, and she's local...so I really should have *something*. But she's only eleven months. I saw a few interesting toys, but she won't be ready for them for six months or so. And apparently no one really makes stuffed animals anymore...or at least they didn't seem to have many at Target. Odd.
