The Hobbit Hole XXXII - Sweet is the sound of falling rain
The Freeper Hobbit Hole Blog ^ | December 1, 2006

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

Sing hey! for the bath at close of day
That washes the weary mud away!
A loon is he that will not sing:
O! Water Hot is anoble thing!

O! Sweet is the sound of falling rain.
and the brook that leaps from hill to plain;
but better than rain or rippling streams
is Water Hot that smokes and steams.

O! Water cold we may pour at need
down a thirsty throat and be glad indeed;
but better is Beer, if drink we lack,
and Water Hot poured down the back.

O! Water is fair that leaps on high
in a fountain white beneath the sky;
but never did fountain sound so sweet
as splashing Hot Water with my feet!

We did all our shopping so far without going in a mall. We have to go again today :~)

Wear yer mittens when you take your walk, it's a bit brisk. Well, don't vetguilt too much, you know from past experience that misskitty will be fine; though it wouldn't hurt to have some 'extra' fancy feast for her return.

Maybe I'll just make some more coffee and wait for it to be a little less brisk. :)

Gotta pack Miss Cat's go-bag, do laundry, pack. I think we have home improvement on the agenda and I have to go find my 6" putty knife.

Six inch putty knife, hope you plan on checking yer suitcase. TSA could have ~ issues ~ with that in yer carry-on. :-)

Yeah, it'll be checked. It's a plastic knife, anyway. Suitable for scraping wallpaper glue off of drywall.

I meant to do a bunch of on-line ordering the weekend the power was out. Oops. And then never got up the motivation again.

The only item I'm wondering a little about is a watch for my brother. I'm thinking drug stores would have those, and if I got desperate I could go to Fred Meyer. Don't wanna go to the mall!

I had a really weird dream last night. I was in an apartment complex, for starters. And stuff kept going wrong. First off, someone in the next apartment caused a flood while I was out, so I came back to find all my carpet in one part of the place soaked and various things ruined. Then I'd picked up a couple bottles of wine and management took one, leaving a note that we weren't allowed over a certain amount of alcohol, so they'd confiscated it.

Then I went down to talk to them about that and the carpet and took Cisco with me and got in trouble for that. and because my place wasn't tidy. Meanwhile the folks next door (the flood people) had burned something and the smell was wafting into my apartment.

I dunno what the whole theme was. Maybe that this place ain't so bad? Heh...

Or maybe that there's some problems with the neighbors? ;~)

Fred Meyer might be the closest thing to a mall we go in. We've been sticking to Ace and Home Depot and such. :~)

Heh...or the landlord. Maybe he was working again last night and I slept through it, but it registered subconsciously.

I made it to the Fred Meyer parking lot a few weeks ago. It was crowded.

So I went to Starbucks instead.

Not exactly equivalent, though.

Sigh. Left the puppies at the dog sitter. Hopefully that'll be a lot better than the kennel.

Flying out in 24 hours and the house needs some work before that. But I'd rather play games.

Yup, so do we, they're on the south side of the house. Seems a bit early or late or something.

Okay. Cat's at the vet's. I put a sprig of catnip in her carrier.
