Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Sing hey! for the bath at close of day
That washes the weary mud away!
A loon is he that will not sing:
O! Water Hot is anoble thing!
O! Sweet is the sound of falling rain.
and the brook that leaps from hill to plain;
but better than rain or rippling streams
is Water Hot that smokes and steams.
O! Water cold we may pour at need
down a thirsty throat and be glad indeed;
but better is Beer, if drink we lack,
and Water Hot poured down the back.
O! Water is fair that leaps on high
in a fountain white beneath the sky;
but never did fountain sound so sweet
as splashing Hot Water with my feet!
I saw that.
Dad's got power back at the beach house. They were out workin' last night!
So then he says, "how about I look over what you sent me and I will call if I have any questions."
So here I am waiting for a call IF there are any questions.... Grrr
You think you're bored, at least you don't have to come in tomorrow. On the other hand, half the office won't be here so I'm sure I can leave early.
Sleepy...
Hey... that's good. I wonder if his DSL will come back now too.
Spoke too soon... it does work. Getting email.
Yeah - I was gonna say.... ;~)
I heard something interesting from the phone guy who came to check our fax line, that I think probably affects DSL. He said the phone switch boxes all have electronics in them now, that are powered by battery. So while the phone may work for awhile, it may eventually go dead. Systems like DSL may require that those switchboxes have power, even though the phone still works. I dunno. He said that they were going around in areas that were still dark and recharging those batteries from their trucks, to keep the phone lines working.
It probably wasn't always that way, in the old days, maybe there wasn't so much added complexity in the system to require electronics, and that made the phones more reliable.
I have been working for two days trying to set up an online payment for my Phillips 66 card! I've called and called and tried and tried to no avail...it wouldn't take my info, kept saying there was an error in my attempt to sign up.
Finally, one guy at the company says "Mrs 2J, could you look very closely at the expiration date?" and so I put on my reading glasses. Oops...that's an EIGHT, not a six.
I could just die.
The guy got quite a kick out of my reaction and laughed along with me. He even said "Merry Christmas" before he hung up.
What happened at 708?
2J, are you self-censoring again?
I accidently put my real name in there...
Ah - you're the culprit ;~)
I wouldn't have bothered, but it was my last name.
She usually is. ;-)
Gotcha :~) Sometimes we forget we're in public :~)
I already can't see now. And I can't remember things from one minute to the next.
Makes me worry a bit. Heh...
That's true :~)
Exactly.
