The Hobbit Hole XXXII - Sweet is the sound of falling rain
The Freeper Hobbit Hole Blog ^ | December 1, 2006

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

Sing hey! for the bath at close of day
That washes the weary mud away!
A loon is he that will not sing:
O! Water Hot is anoble thing!

O! Sweet is the sound of falling rain.
and the brook that leaps from hill to plain;
but better than rain or rippling streams
is Water Hot that smokes and steams.

O! Water cold we may pour at need
down a thirsty throat and be glad indeed;
but better is Beer, if drink we lack,
and Water Hot poured down the back.

O! Water is fair that leaps on high
in a fountain white beneath the sky;
but never did fountain sound so sweet
as splashing Hot Water with my feet!

Alternating movies with Battlestar Gallactica discs, which I'm now seriesly hooked on.

Well, it's going to be windy tonight. Maybe you'll get to use it again.

Shh!

I like having power...

Incidentally, although I'm not sure how accurate an indoor thermometer is for indoor temperatures or what it's lowest range is, the lowest recorded temp in my house was 36 degrees.

Ugh... I'm starting to wish we weren't going anywhere over Christmas, instead of spending a whole week traveling. For one thing we could get through the next two or three seasons of Sailor Moon. :-) Or get my World of Warcraft hunter up to level 15 or so, I need to learn to play this game before the expansion comes out next month.

He's right though, it is going to be windy tonight. Nothing like what we've had, be we need to be ready anyhow.

So...I need to give you back the candles, but maybe I should keep 'em through tomorrow... ;-)

Hopefully we're done with *serious* wind storms for the year!

If you're seeing any activity now up there, it's because there's a gas line rupture in Bellevue at a construction site, 108th by Bellevue Square??? No fire, but they have the helicopters and cameras up just in case.

That's what I did last night. Boars and snow leopards.

Officially done with Christmas shopping as of now! I just have to wrap presents and clean the house before we leave Sunday.

FWIW, one of the federal buildings had a bomb threat this morning. Traffic was a nightmare.

Jr. just told me he bought Luke the same item that I'd already purchased. Okay, not a big deal for me to exchange what I got for something different.

However, Jr. was ~quite~ distressed when I said to him, "You know you're not getting the money from the car...right?"

"I'm not???"

Why did he think he'd get the money? Because he doesn't have use of the car any more?

It ~might~ be if...

1) He had actually paid for it the first time around, and

2) Grandma hadn't bought him the car he's currently driving, and

3) We hadn't already shelled out over $2,000 for Senior Year "essentials," and

4) He had actually produced ~any~ income since October.

Shall I go on?

Because it's "his" car...

Riiiiiight.

And, excuse my ignorance, but what the heck are senior year essentials?
