After a long hiatus because of a boating accident in which her fiance drowned, Loreena McKennitt is finally back with a just released CD, 'An Ancient Muse'.

You can see streaming video footage of Caravanserai (from 'An Ancient Muse') performed live at the Alhambra in Granada, Spain (September 2006). Its an exciting taste of the PBS Great Performances live concert TV special to come in March 2007, 'Nights from the Alhambra'.

When she announces her upcoming concert schedule for the USA it is a can't miss event.
Many thanks.
This woman is truly a remarkable musician.
I love her music - looking forward to hearing this one.
BTTT. I can't get the samples to play, but my husband will handle it later!
Bumping to listen later.
She is really good--what a voice. I loved the mummbers dance (don't know if I spelled that correctly) also I have heard only a time or two a Christmas song that she sang that was awesome. I believe it was Good King Wenceles (again spelling?) Does anyone know if this is available as an mp3 download somewhere?
I'm bad about buying a cd unless I know I will enjoy the whole thing and not just one song--is her music all as good as what i've heard?
Yep, all of her CDs are excellent. I'd sampple all the songs at her website. That'll give you a good intro.
If you want a good compilation of all her music start with the Live from Toronto CD. It has tracks from four of her CDs, plus it's LIVE.
It is all very good. Try iTunes to buy certain cuts if you don't like the entire CD. You can then burn your "greatest hits" to a CD.
