Sad news, died at the young age of 61. He did a great job, along with his wife, of raising son Jerome. At least he got to see him raise the coveted Super Bowl trophy last year...in his hometown. Condolences to the Bettis family and the Steeler Nation. More details on the Detroit News and Detroit Free Press websites.

RIP for Mr. Bettis. Job well done, Sir.

We can never pick our moment, but he will be remembered through the fine children he raised. That is life's greatest legacy -- far more significant and lasting than trophies or rings.
