BLOOMINGTON, Ind. -- A woman rear-ended two school buses with her car within about a half-hour on the same street, police said.
No children were injured, but the driver of the car, Amy Osborne, 31, was taken to Bloomington Hospital after she had to be cut out of her car following the second crash Monday, police said. She was not seriously injured, police said, and there was no record of the Bloomington woman at the hospital Tuesday.
"They put her on a backboard and a neck thing. She was crying a lot," said Chuck Brown, who heard the second crash from his home.
No charges have been filed, and the crashes were still being investigated, said Bloomington Police Sgt. Steven Kellams.
In the first crash just before 8 a.m., 11 children were on a bus headed to Summit Elementary School. The bus was turning right when Osborne's vehicle struck it from behind, said Mike Clark, director of transportation for the Monroe County Community School Corporation.
"Everybody was fine," he said.
Emergency workers checked out Osborne and the bus passengers, and they continued on their way, he said.
The second accident was just before 8:30 a.m. as a different bus with no children aboard was waiting to turn left.
No listing was available for Amy Osborne in the Bloomington telephone directory.
If that would have happened in New York, the cops would have put 50 caps in her.
The good news: She did destroy her car, so she's going to be off the roads for a while.
The bad news: Eventually she will get another car and start driving again.
I'm willing to go out on a limb here...I know it's kind of iffy and is probably a silly idea but maybe, well, just maybe she should consider not following them quite that closely?
Well, the sign says "don't pass when bus is stopped." Technically, she wasn't passing.
This way she doesn't pass a school bus as students are rushing to it or disembarking, therefore saving lots of $$ on heavy fines.
She thought she had a phase cloak from Star Trek which would have enabled her to fly through the bus unimpeded.
B) WomenIdiots driving? Worse.
C) Combining A and B? Disastrous.
LOL. The old cloaking devise excuse.
I wonder if she was trying to commit suicide..
LOL
That's probably a good thing.
Maybe she's related to Super Dave Osborne?
Super Dave is supposedly an "accomplished" stuntman, though he rarely succeeds when performing the stunts depicted onscreen. His signature is to perform outrageous daredevil stunts which invariably go awry and result in his grievous injury. These included such things as riding inside the hub of a giant yo-yo suspended from a crane (the yo-yo broke free of its string and rolled off a cliff into a ravine) and being flung inside a giant football (the catapult malfunctioned and "spiked" the football instead of throwing it). After an injury has occurred, Super Dave would usually appear torn apart, stretched, or otherwise injured. One of his signature logos is a drawing of his head (in a helmet or his ballcap) on top of a pair of shoes with no body. This was occasionally how he appeared after a stunt resulted in something falling on top of him.He is the inspiration and head of the fictional "Super Dave Compound" - a combination resort/theme park/learning centre/etc. (anything needed for a particular episode). The demonstration of many of these aspects of the compound were also the basis for many of his misadventures.
His trademarks include his frequent thumbs-ups, and his many uniforms - most of which inlude red, white and blue, yellow stars, and stripes, somewhat reminiscent of those worn by Kneivel. Often-uttered phrases include "sensational" and "putz".
He is often accompanied on his various exploits by loyal friend, sidekick and assistant stunt coordinator Fuji Hakayito. It is usually left to Fuji (or "Fooj", as Super Dave refers to him) to set whatever stunt Dave is performing in motion.
She can say she just had a "Hyster-wrecked, oh me!"
"Balloon, ball. Balloon ball. *BAM!* UNCLE!" -Super Dave Osborne.
Worked for me!
Why, the state police never saw me as I went by, doing 99 MPH, dragging some lawyer I'd run down earlier, and flames shooting from under the hood as I spoke loudly into my cellphone to my A.A. sponsor as I chugged my jeagermiester..
Just what I was thinking.
