Choosing The Right Vista
VIA Arena has a very good guide to choosing the right Vista for your needs. There is a handy chart that shows you which features are in the different versions of Vista and what they mean to you. This is good reading for those of you planning to upgrade to Vista.
At a glance, here is a list of features that are not in every edition of Windows Vista. If the table cell is highlighted in blue then the corresponding features are in the corresponding edition of Vista. This should be your first place to look. If there are features you need or want you'd better get the edition that has them.

you better be careful trolling on microsoft posts... you might get banned.
You better be careful about accusing people of trolling.
looks like Home Premium(which will probably come on Dells and such will be just fine)
well... just letting you know. I just came off a 1 week ban for "Bobbing for Apples"
My clients are staying the heck away from Vista, even though one client gets the el cheapo $35 per copy XP and $35 per Office 2003 pricing since they are a non-profit. Might go to Office 2007 however.
Well, they're not going to have a choice at some point. Maybe you should prepare them for it...
re: Linux, I use PCLinuxOS and Mepis(Based on Ubuntu, but uses KDE and has other changes) but it isn't a replacement for Windows IMHO and should only be used in a dual boot enviroment OR on an OLD manchine. JMO
I'm going for business (because I am self employed) but I don't need the more elaborate security levels. I wonder what the price breaks will be?
they can do that if they want to... I don't understand why though.
Vista Home Premium $159
Vista Business $199
Vista Ultimate $259
extra $60 you can get the Ultimate... ;)
FYI, the "N" versions are directed toward Korea and the EU because they don't have Media Player.
LOL! Thanks! That would be the cheapest Ultimate (anything) I've ever gotten...
