Although I am pleased the NFL decided to FINALLY add a third Thanksgiving Day game in prime time I ask this question:

Is it time for the NFL to end the tradition of Detroit and Dallas hosting games on this day?

NFL PING

FReepmail scott says to be added to, or to be taken off the NFL Ping list...
This is a fairly high volume ping list

As a long time Dallas fan I know the basis for Dallas' Thanksgiving day Game. It helped to give the Cowboys respect and a national venue when everyone associated NFL with New York, Philadelphia and Chicago!

Go Pokes!

I can see why fans of those two teams would be reluctant to give up the tradition.

The NFL actually did take away those games from the Lions and Cowboys for a couple of years, maybe in the late 1980s (?).

It wasn't a popular move, and the NFL went back to the traditional matchups.

Well, I wasn't completely correct, but the NFL did take away the game from the Cowboys in 1977 and gave it to the Dolphins and Cardinals.

Dallas should keep their game, the Lions should give up theirs.

Why was John Fogerty just singing "fortunate son" at the dolphins/lions halftime? What was up with the united way spiel?
Looks like the Dems have infiltrated the NFL on Thanksgiving.

30 year old vietnam war protest tunes on thanksgiving 2006?
How overt can you get?

My husband and I voiced our disgust over Fogerty as well. Has the NFL gone nuts?

I love CCR but its a song about the DRAFT
sung at a football game 30 years after the draft ended.
If America is dumb enough to buy into it we deserve to lose.

Yeesh

It's a song that most of the NFL's viewers would recognize and enjoy. Would you prefer they bring in Jay-Z or 50 Cent to appear trendy? I didn't think so.

It was a liberal stab at the war in Iraq.
DU is all pleased over it

DU is pleased when they can remember how to count to 10.

Big deal.

50 cent is an independent thinker type. He'd be more entertaining at least.
