In this world of pain, confusion and question, today we give pause. We dont today focus on the half empty cup but rather CHOSE to look at the joy of life, the blessings of life and the friendships of life.
Today we give thanks to God for his gift of life & blessings in this troubled world.
We give thanks to friends and family for the gifts of friendship and joy they share with us
Today is day ONE of the LONG 4-day Thanksgiving Weekend here at the Singles Thread.
We are thankful that Jim & John Robinson have given us a cozy cyber room in the forum for us to chat.
Our singles family is diverse & NOT without internal problems. But we are doing our best to be here for our friends of all ages & all walks of life. If you are single or a friend of any of us, you are most welcome to drop in & chat & share. The doors will be open all weekend to visit.
May our God keep all in His protective love.
Whether with a group or alone, whether at home or traveling , whether content or troubled, may TODAY be a day of peace & of reflection of the blessings we do have.
Feel free to share your greetings, graphics, joys, pains. This is a thread of openness & friendship & sharing.
I am grateful for many things this day..my God, my family, my friends, but profoundly grateful I was born in America. I am thankful to my president for his leadership and the fine example in marriage he provides. I am thankful for the troops who are serving and far from the homes & families that today have an empty seat. I love my country
Dolly.
Give Thanks Music Here
Give thanks with a grateful heart Give thanks to the Holy One Give thanks because He's given Jesus Christ, His Son
(Repeat twice)
And now, Let the weak say "I am strong" Let the poor say "I am rich" Because of what the Lord has done for us
(Repeat twice)
Give thanks !
"Enter His gates with thanksgiving, and His courts with praise. Give thanks to Him and praise His name. For the LORD is good and His love endures forever; His faithfulness continues through all generations." (Psalm 100:4-5)
"I do not think of all the misery, but of the glory that remains. Go outside into the fields, nature and the sun, go out and seek happiness in yourself and in God. Think of the beauty that again and again discharges itself within and without you and be happy. Anne Frank
"Let us remember that, as much has been given us, much will be expected from us, and that true homage comes from the heart as well as from the lips, and shows itself in deeds."1901 Theodore Roosevelt
"As we express our gratitude, we must never forget that the highest appreciation is not to utter words, but to live by them." John Fitzgerald Kennedy
"It is the duty of all Nations to acknowledge the providence of Almighty God, to obey his will, to be grateful for his benefits, and humbly to implore his protection and favor." George Washington October 3, 1789 in his first Presidential Proclamation.

I loved living in Houston..weather was great & close to beach (as long as you don't mind tar chunks as part of formula)
good for you on your team.
Mine is in playoffs tonight - Friday Night Lights. Nordonia HS (Northfield, OH). I did my student teaching there, my bro graduated from school & my son attended (did not graduate - flunked math)
High school football is fun. The kids play really hard & there are not all the trappings & expenses that one has in college.

Hi Bill.. wasn't ignoring you.. went to bed about 11PM.. long day. Rather quiet in most respects (just mom & me) but LONG..and a lot of physical along the way.
We have good weather for Nov..not as good as yours but 50 in NE Ohio this time of year is very welcome.
Did you see the new James Bond flick? Snake scene..

hope you will share what is going on in your life with the "gang"...many of whom do a LOT of lurking, I am told!
I swore I would not be near stores today but might go to Lowes or Home Depot. I need roofing material.. bad leaks..don't think those stores will be too crazy.
Also BOTH Toby & Josy have lost their ID tags within 10 days of each other. I normally get the nice big brass ones. but might go the cheaper route as this happens much too often!

you are brave.. I changed my mind.. no roofing "stuff", no doggie tags..
the highways were a mess & the radio told of nothing but backlogs in traffic.
Black Friday (for me) is a good time to do ANYTHING except go to stores!

On Thanksgiving I cooked the traditional meal while watching the parade in New York on TV. Since then I've just remained in my cave watching movies on TV. I have tons and tons to be thankful for. I won't have to surface until I go to work Monday morning.

Yeah, most of my attention was focused on basketball and the slice of pumpkin pie I had in front me until a minute ago.
