In this world of pain, confusion and question, today we give pause. We dont today focus on the half empty cup but rather CHOSE to look at the joy of life, the blessings of life and the friendships of life.
Today we give thanks to God for his gift of life & blessings in this troubled world.

We give thanks to friends and family for the gifts of friendship and joy they share with us

Today is day ONE of the LONG 4-day Thanksgiving Weekend here at the Singles Thread.

We are thankful that Jim & John Robinson have given us a cozy cyber room in the forum for us to chat.

Our singles family is diverse & NOT without internal problems. But we are doing our best to be here for our friends of all ages & all walks of life. If you are single or a friend of any of us, you are most welcome to drop in & chat & share. The doors will be open all weekend to visit.

May our God keep all in His protective love.

Whether with a group or alone, whether at home or traveling , whether content or troubled, may TODAY be a day of peace & of reflection of the blessings we do have.

Feel free to share your greetings, graphics, joys, pains. This is a thread of openness & friendship & sharing.

I am grateful for many things this day..my God, my family, my friends, but profoundly grateful I was born in America. I am thankful to my president for his leadership and the fine example in marriage he provides. I am thankful for the troops who are serving and far from the homes & families that today have an empty seat. I love my country

 Dolly.

 Give Thanks
 Music Here

Give thanks with a grateful heart
Give thanks to the Holy One
 Give thanks because He's given
 Jesus Christ, His Son

 (Repeat twice)

And now, Let the weak say "I am strong"
Let the poor say "I am rich"
Because of what the Lord has done for us

 (Repeat twice)

 Give thanks !

"Enter His gates with thanksgiving, and His courts with praise.Give thanks to Him and praise His name.
 For the LORD is good and His love endures forever;
His faithfulness continues through all generations."
 (Psalm 100:4-5)

"I do not think of all the misery,
but of the glory that remains.
Go outside into the fields, nature and the sun,
go out and seek happiness in yourself and in God.
Think of the beauty that again and again discharges itself
within and without you and be happy. Anne Frank

"Let us remember that, as much has been given us, much will be expected from us, and that true homage comes from the heart as well as from the lips, and shows itself in deeds."1901 Theodore Roosevelt

"As we express our gratitude, we must never forget that the highest appreciation is not to utter words, but to live by them."
 John Fitzgerald Kennedy

"It is the duty of all Nations to acknowledge the providence of Almighty God, to obey his will, to be grateful for his benefits, and humbly to implore his protection and favor." George Washington October 3, 1789 in his first Presidential Proclamation.

Trying to put these rubbermaid garbage cans on a shelf, lost my balance, bent backward and to the side, sent the garbage cans on the opposite side of the aisle crashing down into the next aisle with a loud thud, fell down and had the cans land on top of me.

I lived in Ohio for 18 years(1982-2000) and have lived in Florida since. The whole snow thing gets old after a while, except for Christmas, but I haven't seen snow for that since I moved here.

Please go thru the workman's comp route.. you will get good medical treatment & no doubt a settlement..

Guys seem to have a hard time with this & just like to shake things off but you may have something that will haunt you for the rest of your life (I speak from experience on this one) and you need to get whatever compensation is available.

Actually, I'm trying to decide who all to make the comment to...or should I just say "all" and hope everyone happens to see it?

Yikes...that sucks. I hope you don't get as easily annoyed as I do. Every time I told someone how I broke my ankle and they told me I should make up a story, I wanted to smack them. *rolling my eyes* Why would they ask if they didn't wanna know the truth?
