In this world of pain, confusion and question, today we give pause. We dont today focus on the half empty cup but rather CHOSE to look at the joy of life, the blessings of life and the friendships of life.
Today we give thanks to God for his gift of life & blessings in this troubled world.
We give thanks to friends and family for the gifts of friendship and joy they share with us
Today is day ONE of the LONG 4-day Thanksgiving Weekend here at the Singles Thread.
We are thankful that Jim & John Robinson have given us a cozy cyber room in the forum for us to chat.
Our singles family is diverse & NOT without internal problems. But we are doing our best to be here for our friends of all ages & all walks of life. If you are single or a friend of any of us, you are most welcome to drop in & chat & share. The doors will be open all weekend to visit.
May our God keep all in His protective love.
Whether with a group or alone, whether at home or traveling , whether content or troubled, may TODAY be a day of peace & of reflection of the blessings we do have.
Feel free to share your greetings, graphics, joys, pains. This is a thread of openness & friendship & sharing.
I am grateful for many things this day..my God, my family, my friends, but profoundly grateful I was born in America. I am thankful to my president for his leadership and the fine example in marriage he provides. I am thankful for the troops who are serving and far from the homes & families that today have an empty seat. I love my country
Dolly.
Give Thanks Music Here

"Enter His gates with thanksgiving, and His courts with praise. Give thanks to Him and praise His name. For the LORD is good and His love endures forever; His faithfulness continues through all generations." (Psalm 100:4-5)
"I do not think of all the misery, but of the glory that remains. Go outside into the fields, nature and the sun, go out and seek happiness in yourself and in God. Think of the beauty that again and again discharges itself within and without you and be happy. Anne Frank
"Let us remember that, as much has been given us, much will be expected from us, and that true homage comes from the heart as well as from the lips, and shows itself in deeds."1901 Theodore Roosevelt
"As we express our gratitude, we must never forget that the highest appreciation is not to utter words, but to live by them." John Fitzgerald Kennedy
"It is the duty of all Nations to acknowledge the providence of Almighty God, to obey his will, to be grateful for his benefits, and humbly to implore his protection and favor." George Washington October 3, 1789 in his first Presidential Proclamation.

I hope everyone has had a great weekend so far adn that most of you survived the hearty meal and the shopping...
To: darkangel82; pcottraux; ilovew
yep, it's dead all right.
my being here never seems to help...
crazy little thing called work (as much as I need the dough) got in the way of getting in here and working in the basement--before anyone else came...
To: rzeznikj at stout
You killed it without even being here! :P That takes talent...

Yep, I can do that, too...
It's not as common as my, er, other trick--let's just say I'm where social lives come to die...

misery does love company, or so the adage goes...
though at least you've had more success than I have...
To: rzeznikj at stout
Lol mine's not dead. Oh wait, I never had one. So that can't be your fault :P

Yeah, rather short-lived "success" but we won't get into that here.

Oh well, my social life is essentially on hold until I find out whether or not I'm coming back next semester. In fact, a lot of things are on hold. I don't know what classes to sign up for. I don't know if I need to get a dorm room at school or find an apartment here. *sigh*

both of youse are ahead of me...
i have nothing to put on hold, and i have minimal experience...
To: darkangel82
Yeah, whenever my boss decides to tell me whether or not I can come back. It's not really his fault though. My boss from my office has been out for almost every day the last two weeks so the two of them haven't been able to talk about it yet.

I haven't really done that much socially this semester. Between work and school stuff, I haven't had very much time :(

To: rzeznikj at stout
Six years ago is when I got out of high school and got out of Ohio...and well, look where I am now. (alone and broke, that's where)

Let's end the pity party, shall we? We have a lot to be thankful for.
