vanity ^ | 11/22/06 | me

Posted on 11/22/2006 3:38:10 PM PST by Faith65

I have looked to no avail so I am looking for answers from FReepers.....

Was there really a US ship that was found in the Bermuda Triangle many years ago (not sure when) where the naval personnel was all gone and the ship was still afloat with no damage and the dining area was set for a meal?

If so, what is the name of the ship and can you please post links.

Thanks in advance!!!

No.

I think it might have been an "X-Files" episode though.

I think Time Travel played with this one, too...or maybe it was the Twilight Zone.

They found the sailors later on. The were a bit confused and wound up in a parade.

There was a bad Hollywood movie about this sort of thing. I don't think it aired on History Channel.

Many US warships are listed missing by the US Navy between 1780 and 1824, including the General Gates, Hornet, Insurgent, Pickering, Wasp, Wildcat and Expervier. Her disappearance in 1815 delayed the closing of the War of 1812. She carried the peace proposal on board.

We sailed through on our submarine several times at greater than 400 feet. Am I really here?

I've never heard of such a thing. Do ships really get stuck there? I thought it only affected helicopters--methane gas from deep-sea vents gets expelled, goes into the air, and because methane is lighter than air helicopters can't fly over that area. How in the world would that affect a ship? It might smell bad, but otherwise nothing...
