If you two instances are running then we can just leave them alone.
The set advanced methods should be set during installation. I am a little concerned that you did not set the machineid= 1 or 2.
Let it run overnight. Then look at in each folder at the "unitinfo.txt" file. That will tell you what you are running and what the progress is.
I didn't. I hit the download and it didn't ask anything of me when it said files downloaded. Can I just get rid of it and start from scratch?
Note: Please read the license agreement (FAH504-Console.exe -license). Further
use of this software requires that you have read and accepted this agreement.
The file FAHlog.txt has been locked by the operating system and cannot be
opened for writing (possibly because it is open in another application).
Before you next run F@H, please ensure FAHlog.txt is not open anywhere,
or simply delete it. For now, FAHlog2.txt will be used.

TB, I would reccommend she does a search, and dumps all instances of FAH, and starts over. Sounds like the old one is still there.
dfwddr is right. F@H is pulling the existing WU and client.cfg, not allowing you to reinstall the program.
Check your FReepmail.
Life will soon be good.
Hey, we made it up to #58.
Great things happened While You Were Sleeping.
Thanks, both of you. Better I lost it now than when I was almost finished with another wu. I'll check my mail.
I was just researching the DU team, and they're scheduled to overtake "TITS ----> ( . Y . ) <---- TITS" (remember them?) in 20 days.
What do you bet they choke ?????
Well, the guys will brush right past them trailing a fucia boa.
Now the DU womyn may stop folding while they pass just to stare.
In case they ask, yes those "TITS ----> ( . Y . ) <---- TITS" are real.
DU has leveled off at 10,000 PPD and may soon drop below that for good. They will have a very hard time making it to 140.
Has DU even had a folding thread lately?
I've randomly searched for one over the last couple of months, and haven't found one. Some other quick DU stats, to bookmark the date, they have 63 ppl with a PPD avg (#63 = 1 PPD), and 57 with points this week. They theoretically could get to the #59 position, but it would take them a bit over 15 years, not counting overtakes. With overtakes, and a declining PPD, they'll be lucky to reach 100.

That looks very good. And you will like the Double Groamcs core for points.
The easiest way tell if both WUs are working is the old CTRL-ALT-DEL. If you see two cores running then all is well.
I'll remember that. Thank you for all your help. Now I can go to bed and let it do it's thing. :-)
What on earth did I do wrong, and is it fixable?

Actually everything is fine. Its just chugging right along.
I would perhaps set the checkpoint save time to longer than 3 minutes, but that is a minor nit.
Now we know that the second core is happy. How is the first F@H doing?

It showed 63% completed when I checked this morning.
Saving extra checkpoints is no big deal, especially since you have electrical problems.
Maybe a cheap battery back up for Christmas?
I'll post later when I get to work.
I have double AA's, will that work? Just kidding. My daughter will know what I need, I'll ask her. I am getting a beautiful new desk though, the furniture store let it slip on their delivery date. Hubby will never know I know. Bless him. :-)

Can I just backspace on my checkpoint=3 and get rid of the constant checkpoint breaks?
No, you need to have a setting between 3 and 30. I keep mine set a 30 minutes in most cases.
15 minutes is the default and works OK for most folks.
