I just heard some howling as my wife surfed past the program. Gotta go, the dog insists on going outside.

Sorry. The only cable I have is cable internet. Cable TV was banished from my household. :-)

I'm obviously very bored tonight. Think I'll turn this off and read some Milton Friedman.

Though I can't help commenting on the butcher-job Gwen Stefani did to one of the old songs from The Sound of Music :(

American music? I thought it died in the fifties with the death of real jazz. The Bird lives!

In my life I have to set priorities … American Music Awards or FR. Hmmm, let me think about that.

Does a week go by where there is NOT an awards show ?

Do they have an "awards show" to honor the "best" awards shows ?

Do "awards shows" accomplish anything other than proving incontrovertably that the vast majority of entertainers are insecure, shallow, brain-dead morons ?

I hate awards shows. I especially do not want to have to look at the Chixie Dits. Besides, I'm playing on my 'puter and the TV is in another room.

Of course, Robert Byrd still lives.

But he's been around much longer than the fifties.

Since 1840 at LEAST.

With Bird is meant Charlie Parker and the birth of modern jazz which has its foundation in be-bop with its intricate melody structure.

I knew what you meant. It was my lame attempt at a joke.

As penance you will have to listen to "Joy Spring" with Clifford Brown and Max Roach.
