Was anyone else as annoyed as I was with the tragically poor NBC coverage of the cup finale??
I think they showed about 25 green flag laps and the rest was commercials! I like BP and the crew, but there were just too many commercials and not enough racing....sheesh!
The producer(s) need to find other work.
Kit.
Here's a site for all the racing a person needs for the next several months.

My favorite is the downhill. :)
90 mph with turns, bumps and jumps without an engine or roll cage.
Brian France needs to fire himself, and turn over the reins of NASCAR to Humpy Wheeler.
France has decided that NASCAR races should be run on cookie-cutter race tracks, with cardboard cut-out drivers from Hollywood central casting. The tracks and the drivers are emblematic of what happens when you turn your sport over to Madison Avenue.
Result....... NASCAR is losing TV ratings, and it's most loyal fans.
Hopefully, ESPN/ABC will use the format during the IRL races in the last two years--namely going to split-screen during commercial breaks so you won't miss any of the action even during the commercial.
At last, NBC is roadkill in the rear view mirror, Thank goodness.
Thanks for putting this one out there. :-)
Don't just lay that at NBC's feet.
This business of 40%+ commercials has been going on for a couple of years.
I may not watch next season if the coverage on Sirius is good enough.
For a while I was muting the TV, turning on MRN and reading a book during the races.
I won't be using Gillette razors, drinking Coke or Pepsi or Buttwiper or Miller or Gatorade. I don't get my parts from Napa or Autozone. I won't go to Home Depot anymore either.
You can bet anything in the world that if I see a Kasey Kahne commercial with 3 dumpy 30-something women fantasizing about him I'll be turning off the TV.
I like Wrangler jeans and Thin Lizzie but they're two great tastes that don't taste great together, especially ad nauseum.
Commercials that mock 'manliness' are getting old as well.
3 monthes without racing?
I may have to buy my nephews r/c cars for Christmas to keep up with the fix!
Thx for da ping. It's be rough with no NASCAR for a few months. This season ended badly for me cuz I ain't a JJ fan, although he prolly did deserve the win.
The time off will also give me time to figure out how to change my factory XM radio in my '07 Silverado to Sirius, who'll have NASCAR come January.
90 mph?
Thats barely fast enough to get the cheeks a fluttering.
Real racers go twice as fast as that.
Just ask Wally.
:)
Hope everyone has a safe and fun off-season, including a wonderful Thanksgiving this week.
Remember our troops in your prayers and be grateful and thankful for our freedoms.
I am doing what they are, hunting and fishing through it, play some golf if weather permits
It's sure gonna be tough, at least we have the banquet in New York next week.
I have one Talladega tape from 04, I think.....it's the one where he went from 12th to 1st in one swoop between cars like a rocket.
I hate when they keep changing things.....Jr stays with XM but Nascar goes to Sirius. I don't have either one, but they both have some good shows.
