If Notre Dame beats USC, you know what that means ....
interesting. USC is number 2 in the humans polls but the computers keeps Michigan number 2 by a wide margin. But if USC beats ND they should jump up.
Michigan is #2 in the AP poll.
Yep...
well it means a couple things...
Chaos for one...
and a rematch for the other....
So what happens if Southern Cal defeats Notre Dame next week?
But the AP isn't part of the BCS anymore....
I don't know.
If USC is able to flip a computer or two so that they are ranked above Michigan, that might be enough of a margin to get them above Michigan.
some....
I don't know. I do pretty well in math in college, but this is more like Philsophy wrapped up with a bit of Metaphysics or something...
The BCS sucks.
Watching the game yesterday I wondered if Michigan hadn't committed that personal foul when Ohio State was third and fifteen if Michigan would have been able to score, assuming OS punted. It did seem as if Michigan had the momentum in the second half. That being said, I'm not convinced that USC should be number 2.
Mike, I will be honest with you buddy.
I think it is just about likely that we will see a rematch.
USC will need to pound on ND and then do the same to UCLA the next week to have a shot.
But I think you are correct.
I seriously doubt USC could come into the horseshoe and give Ohio State any kind of game.
My 2 cents...........
As much as I hate them, UF deserves the next shot. They played a tough schedule and lost a close one on the road. They also lost earlier.
I don't know about USC just rolling over and dying against OHio State (although we will get to find out in a couple years)....
One of my basic problems with the BCS is that it sometimes allows teams into the NC game without them having to win their conferences.
OHio State, with their win last night, has the outright Big Ten title. It would be very bad for College Football in general if Michigan and OSU split the games or even if Ohio State won both games.
One because the team that won the NC didn't even win their conference and the other because then Ohio State beat MIchigan twice while at least 2 teams with one loss didn't get a shot.
It could force the BCS to explode, but it would detract from the players and coaches and their staffs who would have put in a ton of time and effort into these games.
It all comes down to this my friend.
If we really want the National Championship to be between the 2 best teams in the USA, OSU and UM are the 2 best teams.
Personally I'll be surprised if UF makes it though the SEC championship game.
That patsy they had yesterday didn't help their cause much I'm afraid....
Why in the hell did they schedule that team ? their AD should be ashamed. The Gators would have been better off with a bye.
