Moss looking for a trade

Raiders wide receiver Randy Moss is "tired" of the frustration he feels playing for a team that has won only six of 25 games since he joined the team before last season and is interested in being traded, he said on his weekly radio spot Friday.
Moss is in his second season with the Raiders and hasn't managed to recapture the magic he showed for most of his seven seasons with the Minnesota Vikings.
"It's done sort of set in, man, and I'm tired of it," Moss said on Fox Sports radio. "I might want to look forward to moving somewhere else next year to have another start and really feel good about going out here and playing football."
Moss dropped this latest bombshell three hours or so before the Raiders boarded a plane for Kansas City in anticipation of their game against the Chiefs on Sunday, and four days after he attributed his dropping so many passes this season to his being unhappy.

his cap hit in 2007 is almost $10 million, and $11.25 million in 2008. You have to wonder if the Raiders feel like paying a guy that much to essentially stink up the field. The same thing that any team who would trade for him will be thinking, "why do I want that huge contract stinking up my field?"
If you ask me his price/production ratio makes him untradable without the Raiders eating most of his contract. That is not going to happen.
My real question is: "why isn't Shell punishing this loud mouth the way he did Porter and Gabriel?"
Cue Simpson's comicbook man voice "worst coach ever!"

Disagreed. Moss is still the best deep threat in the game--or perhaps second-best, if you count a healthy Steve Smith--and there are a lot of teams without a viable deep threat. Put him on a team not named the Oakland Raiders, and Randy Moss will show up to play, as he did in Minnesota.

Because he's Randy Moss. Shell probably thinks that he can get production out of Moss by giving him free reign.

I would not be surprised to see Moss go before year end.
Can't. The trade deadline has already passed. Moss is going to be a Raider until at least the end of this season.

Tks...I was wondering if the deadline passed.
I certainly don't expect him around next year.
Jerry Porter may be. I don't know what happened between him and Shell but he has always been a star receiver.

Perhaps you should check out the number of points the Beloved have scored.
While we know that January in Chicago is unlikely to be above 20 and would prefer to pummel the opposition NOW we have a qb who can actually pass for a td if needed. In those games where we cannot take control and keep it but must return from behind we have the best chance of doing that since McMahon. If Walter Payton and Matt Suey were in the backfield with Grossman he might be even better than Jimmy Mac.

No one is going to give a #1 for him. Maybe a 3. Besides he will soon develop an injury so he doesn't play for the rest of the season. The guy is a bum.
The Bears considered drafting him and had an interview arranged. He overslept and didn't show. Totally Typical. Totally Moss.

TO's working ok for the Cowboys. On the field he hustles and blocks.
He's not the only go-to guy and he draws coverage which frees up Whitten and Glenn.
To: stainlessbanner
Indeed. That's one reason I think there would be healthy interest in Moss; he's a legitimate deep threat, and he allows your "other" receivers to get open.

Against KC today, he looked like a nose picker as the KC defender picked off a pass meant for him. No dive, no motions, just stood there. I know the defender was ten feet in front of him, but jeeze.

Do you still believe Moss is teh best deep threat there is after today's game?

Yes, he absolutely is. He's simply not putting forth the effort--and playing for a crappy Raiders team, who would? Even if he did his best, his QB can't get him the ball. Remember the first couple of games this season, when Moss was berating Brooks on the sidelines? We aren't seeing that anymore, because Moss doesn't care about this season anymore. Put him on a team that can get him the ball and Moss will produce.

There is no team in the NFL that will take Moss's contract. Al Davis is his last sucker.
No need to take a guy who can't even get himself motivated to play a hated rival like KC.
I certainly hope I am wrong.

Sure there are. Jacksonville is chief among them. They need a legitimate deep threat. They WILL pursue him if they think they can get him.

How about getting motivated to beat the defending Super Bowl champions?

I'd ask for Porter if Oakland comes a calling.
What is the trade deadline? 12? 14?

You'd think Moss would know this and started making his leave the team demands 2 months ago. It's not like they haven't stunk all season long.

You don't really know how good you are at the beginning of the season.
But hey, he was actually putting in the effort.

Too bad he doesn't have the motivation of an Emmitt Smith or a Walter Payton. Tragedy.
