Troy Smith and Ohio State did it all, overwhelming Michigan with offense, winning the Big Ten title and streaking into the national title game.
The Wolverines may have another shot at the Buckeyes though -- they, too, can still make it to the BCS title game in Arizona.
Smith and the top-ranked Buckeyes put their dazzling speed on display with a barrage of big plays, and they needed every one of them to beat an inspired Michigan team, 42-39 on Saturday. The Game of the Century, the first 1 vs. 2 matchup in this storied rivalry, was played a day after Michigan lost one of its legends in Bo Schembechler.
The feisty and revered former Michigan coach died Friday, and the top two teams in the nation couldn't have honored his memory with a better game -- though it wasn't the type of football that Bo and Woody Hayes played when they were coaching.
Two defenses that came in allowing 20 points per game combined were unable to stop each other's attack, making the 103rd Ohio State-Michigan meeting the second-highest scoring game in the series.
It was surely one of the most entertaining.

17-3 Cincinnati after Cincinnati muffs a punt.
*LOL* I'm like you, I didn't have a dog in this fight either (I'm from Kentucky. Not exactly a football state, even with Louisville doing as well as they did this year) But this was one HELL of a football game.
Hlluva Game!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Wow
I bleed scarlett and gray and this was a most incredible victory
LLLLLoyd Carr ( LLLL For Loser, Loser, Loser....He is no BO!!!!)
Yes, I agree. Go Bucks!
I love that picture
Go Bucks!
Thanks!
While I understand their grave disappointment in today's result, the Wolverines should remain proud of the valiant effort put out by their men. That was one of the most, no, make that, THE most outstanding OSU-UM game I have ever watched!
Ditto. The players, coaches, alumni, students and fans of Michigan have nothing to be ashamed of. They played a good game.
20-3 Cincinnati.
I was raised in the Columbus area, and attended OSU. This is the best game I have ever seen (I didn't actually watch any in the early 50s, as I was just too young)..... even when Woody was alive!
Don't you just love how all the cops are surrounding the goal posts? I'll bet campus gets trashed tonight.
What a game... I just got back from Columbus, where i watched it from some incredible seats, rushed the field afterward, etc. Can't wait until Glendale!
Mike Golic?
Sing It, Golic
O-Hi-O, O-Hi-O Mike Golic lost his bet to Chris Spielman when Notre Dame was beaten by Ohio State 34-20 in the Fiesta Bowl in Tempe, Arizona on Jan. 2. Coach Charlie Weis was outfoxed by Jim Tressel and QB Brady Quinn outplayed by Troy Smith as Ohio State jumped out to a 21-7 halftime lead and never looked back. As payment, Golic had to wear Spielman's Ohio State jersey and sing the Buckeyes fight song on the Mike and Mike in the Morning Show on Friday, Jan. 6.

Yes, Golic really is singing the OSU fight song and wearing Spielman's jersey.
Is this something Golic can get used to? He's digging the OSU fight song.
Greeny and Liam loved Golic's singing THIS MUCH.
I heard his rendition this Thursday on ESPN radio. Greenberg sang Hail to the Victors.
