Special Howie Carr ping...

What are they thinking? Even about the numbers -- is there a context? Are other radio stations picking up the loss or are people just not listening to radio as much? And DePetro is the only one the give the actual numbers for -- for the others, even the percentage drop doesn't mean that much without the actual numbers. (I can't believe, for example, that that idiot Scotto has more listeners than Rush, even if his drop wasn't as steep!)
I loved Rod Fritz -- he filled in a couple of times (for Howie Carr, I think), and he was great!

What a mess. Why are ratings for conservative talk-masters heading down? Is it WRKO?

Thanks for the ping.
Haven't been around much this week; should be back next Tuesday.
Hope Howie's still there then!
Can't believe he or Rush could be in trouble.

I never thought I'd see the day. I'm listening to Rush right now and I hope his show on WRKO survives. I rarely listen to Howie, but I'd hate to see him go. He's an institution here, for Pete's sake.

One of WRKO's main problems is that their signal - it sucks. I live 55 miles north of Boston and the signal strength is laughable for a 50kW station, especially in the morning and evening hours. Entercom's other AM station in Boston, 680 WEEI, is even worse. I often wind up listening to Howie Carr on a (very weak) FM station here in Southern NH (WPTL) when the AM signal fades out.

Howie oughtta get syndicated nationwide.
I've never even lived in MA but still find his a great listen.
Oh, and Howie: The point behind podcasts is that PEOPLE SHOULD BE ABLE TO DOWNLOAD THEM EASILY TO THEIR iPODS, YOU CHUMP.
