I vote Republican. I'm registered as a Republican. But, if they put someone like Rudy as our leader or some other "moderate" I would be considered independent. People are fed up with Washington. Republicans are the only people with the ideological gumption to back up their votes. Democrats largely vote because of tradition or promised perks. Republicans vote because of ideology. When the party ceases to represent that ideology, people may seek other paths. The numbers may actually be real is my point.
No way has the Republican party fallen to a mere 24%! These pollsters just call and talk to whoever answers the phone. How many of the respondents:
1) Old enough to vote?
2) Legal citizens?
3) been in the country longer than 3 weeks? (38% of them have never heard of Nancy Pelosi!!)
4) believe in UFO's?
5) Hope for a worldwide Islamic victory?
6) Sit around watching Price is Right all day?
There is a struggle ongoing for control over the Republican party and the conservatives are not winning. The media party has chosen our presidential canidates - the insane guy and the guy in the dress. Neither are conservative by any stretch of the imagination. Which means they will lose to whoever the democrats put up. Which is why the media party selected them for us.
We should not play along with this media inspired scenario. Currently liberal repubicans are tryig to beat riff-raff out of their pup tent just as they did in the past before Regan came along. We need to have a conservative candidate - with a clear agenda/voice or the Republican party will return to it's permanent minority status.
