The Prayer Room: Praying for America, FR, and all who need it
Various | 11/8/06 | Knitting a Conundrum

Posted on 11/09/2006 6:49:58 PM PST by Knitting A Conundrum

Unless the LORD builds the house, those who build it labor in vain. Unless the LORD watches over the city, the watchman stays awake in vain.

Psalm 127:1
>

At this time, when feelings run high, the world seems crazy, and anger seems to be the one thing the peoples of the world have in common, I invite you, my fellow FReepers, to join me in prayers and meditation for guidance, God's help and for our fellow man, for America, our troops,  and all our own needs.

Sweet hour of prayer! sweet hour of prayer!
That calls me from a world of care,
And bids me at my Father’s throne
Make all my wants and wishes known.
In seasons of distress and grief,
My soul has often found relief
And oft escaped the tempter’s snare
By thy return, sweet hour of prayer!

William Bradbury

God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.
Therefore we will not fear though the earth should change,
though the mountains shake in the heart of the sea;
though its waters roar and foam,
though the mountains tremble with its tumult.

Psalm 46: 1-3

Jer 33:2 "Thus says the LORD who made the earth, the LORD who formed it to establish it--the LORD is his name:
Jer 33:3 Call to me and I will answer you, and will tell you great and hidden things that you have not known.
.......
LORD Jehovah YHWH
A noun meaning God. The word refers to the proper name of the God of Israel, particularly the name by which He revealed Himself to Moses...
Exo 6:2 God spoke to Moses and said to him, "I am the LORD.
Exo 6:3 I appeared to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, as God Almighty, but by my name the LORD I did not make myself known to them.

The divine name has traditionally not been pronounced, primarily out of respect for its sacredness
Although the exact derivation of the name is uncertain, most scholars agree that its primary meaning should be understood in the context of God's existence, namely, that He is the "I AM THAT I AM" (Exo_3:14), the One who was, who is, and who always will be (cf. Rev_11:17).
The frequent appearance of this name in relation to God's redemptive work underscores its tremendous importance (Lev_26:45; Psa_19:14)
--The Complete Word Study Dictionary, 1992

Jer 29:12 Then you will call upon me and come and pray to me, and I will hear you.
Jer 29:13 You will seek me and find me. When you seek me with all your heart,
Jer 29:14 I will be found by you, declares the LORD.....
........
Deu 4:7 For what great nation is there that has a god so near to it as the LORD our God is to us, whenever we call upon him?
.......
Deu 4:29 But from there you will seek the LORD your God and you will find him, if you search after him with all your heart and with all your soul.
........
Psa 91:15 When he calls to me, I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble; I will rescue him and honor him.
........
Psa 145:18 The LORD is near to all who call on him, to all who call on him in truth.
........
Luk 11:10 For everyone who asks receives, and the one who seeks finds, and to the one who knocks it will be opened.
........
Rom 10:13 For "everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved."

Oh Great and Mighty Jehovah, You urge us to come and pray to you.
You have made all things. There is nothing too difficult for you.
We worship you LORD in AWE.
You bend down and draw near to hear us.
You are too Mighty for our comprehension.
Your Love is beyond what we can understand.
We have need to be cleansed from the world today, from walking in it.
Wash us with the Water of Your Word and so Sanctify our minds and memories.
Please give protection to those who are defenseless against the attack of the enemy.
Please provide for those who are in need, with no one to help.
Please comfort those in pain from the loss of a loved one or injury or illness. Be our Healing Jehovah.
Please receive our love and devotion. Be Exalted.

Jehovah sits enthroned
In majesty most bright,
Appareled in omnipotence,
And girded round with might.

The world established stands
On its foundations broad;
His throne is fixed, He reigns supreme,
The everlasting God.

The floods have lifted up
Their voice in majesty,
But mighty is the Lord our God
Above the raging sea.

Thy testimonies, Lord,
In faithfulness excel,
And holy must Thy servants be
Who in Thy temple dwell.

When terrors rise and nations faint,
God is the Strength of every saint.

Thank you sincerely for the whole of your prayer and praise and proclamation post bp7. The two lines above specifically come well upon the heels of my morning reading in 2 Maccabees 1-8, which I highly recommend to all.

God bless us, every one.

Just as I am, without one plea,
But that Thy blood was shed for me,
And that Thou bidst me come to Thee,
O Lamb of God, I come, I come.

Just as I am, and waiting not
To rid my soul of one dark blot,
To Thee whose blood can cleanse each spot,
O Lamb of God, I come, I come.

Just as I am, though tossed about
With many a conflict, many a doubt,
Fightings and fears within, without,
O Lamb of God, I come, I come.

Just as I am, poor, wretched, blind;
Sight, riches, healing of the mind,
Yea, all I need in Thee to find,
O Lamb of God, I come, I come.

Just as I am, Thou wilt receive,
Wilt welcome, pardon, cleanse, relieve;
Because Thy promise I believe,
O Lamb of God, I come, I come.

Just as I am, Thy love unknown
Hath broken every barrier down;
Now, to be Thine, yea, Thine alone,
O Lamb of God, I come, I come.

Just as I am, of that free love
The breadth, length, depth, and height to prove,
Here for a season, then above,
O Lamb of God, I come, I come!

Merciful Father,
Thank you for a new day, that you have made.
I walk before you today.
I am on the King's highway, the Highway of holiness.
I rejoice because you protect me there.
Always in the shadow of that Rock that is higher than I.
I love you LORD.
Lift up my mind to the heigths of your Word today.
I hear the red-tailed hawk cry... Let me soar on your Word today.
You wil keep me, I know, and finish what you have begun.
I praise you for your Faithfulness.
Let me abide in you today.
I ask this according to your will, in Jesus' Mighty Name.

Psa 61:1.... Hear my cry, O God, listen to my prayer;
Psa 61:2 from the end of the earth I call to you when my heart is faint. Lead me to the rock that is higher than I,
Psa 61:3 for you have been my refuge, a strong tower against the enemy.
Psa 61:4 Let me dwell in your tent forever! Let me take refuge under the shelter of your wings! Selah.
Psa 61:5 For you, O God, have heard my vows; you have given me the heritage of those who fear your name.

Thank you.

Joh 6:68 Simon Peter answered him, "Lord, to whom shall we go? You have the words of eternal life,
Joh 6:69 and we have believed, and have come to know, that you are the Holy One of God."

I said before, I love you guys....

To: E.G.C.; All

I just wanted to let you know that my husband went to court this past Monday for the two assaults from earlier this year. He has been in an adulterous affair and had been drinking quite heavily while still at home. He has been living at her daughter's house since June as well.

The judge told him on Monday that if he were to plead guilty, he would get two years probation and 20 days in jail. Instead, he pleaded NOT GUILTY.

Now, I have to go to court as there will be a non-jury trial. At this hearing the police will be there to testify, as well as myself, and pictures will be shown of my injuries.

I am not that familiar with this at all but my teenaged son seems to think that his dad will get a worse punishment because he pleaded not guilty when in fact, he is guilty.

Please pray for my kids, me, my husband, and for a restored marriage.

He refuses to come over or call the kids because of this and is taking this out on me but as I told the kids, there are consequences to our actions.

Jail might be good for him so he can think about what he is doing and has done to all of us.

This will be the kids first Christmas without their dad.

It is a beautiful old hymn, isn't it? I cherished it when I came to the LORD, and it was written by Charlotte Elliot in 1835!

Have you considered Al-anon? It isn't an overnight miracle and it is hard to come to terms with yourself and your situation but I have always believed that it was a miracle in my life.

Yes, but he is living with his girlfriend right now and has not been drunk in our presence since he moved out in June.

I would like to submit a prayer request for my wife. She's pregnant with our 2nd...due date is June 3. I pray for peace, strength and good health for her, as well as understanding, energy and motivation for me to continue to help out with day to day stuff around the house and for moments when the usual pregnancy hormonal swings come to surface. (you all know what I mean) ;) And that we will we exceptional parents to this child as well.
