Shelter from the winter,
and the long day's journey,
Just a rock outcropping,
The only place to stay,
A place used as a stable,
Shelter from the storm
There Mary made her resting place
When her little child was born.

Sheltered from the hands of man,
And a king who chose to kill,
The baby rested quietly
As babies sometimes will
At the bosom of his mother
who rocked him on her way,
On the dusty road to Egypt
For a sheltered place to stay.

Unsheltered from the hands of man
the woman trembled there,
Expecting to go down to death
by men who didn't care.
Looking up she saw his face,
No mob to kill her left
Shelter came from heaven's love
A healing, swift and deft.

He built a shelter from the storm
with his own precious blood
As the mob cried out for death
To drag him in the mud,
The pain, the grief, the shameful death
God's haven for the lost,
Shelter for all time and space
he made there at the cross.

Isa 30:27 The LORD's power and glory can be seen in the distance. Fire and smoke show his anger. He speaks, and his words burn like fire.
Isa 30:28 He sends the wind in front of him like a flood that carries everything away. It sweeps nations to destruction and puts an end to their evil plans.
Isa 30:29 But you, God's people, will be happy and sing as you do on the night of a sacred festival. You will be as happy as those who walk to the music of flutes on their way to the Temple of the LORD, the defender of Israel.
Isa 30:30 The LORD will let everyone hear his majestic voice and feel the force of his anger. There will be flames, cloudbursts, hailstones, and torrents of rain.
Isa 30:31 The Assyrians will be terrified when they hear the LORD's voice and feel the force of his punishment.
Isa 30:32 As the LORD strikes them again and again, his people will keep time with the music of drums and harps. God himself will fight against the Assyrians.

Father, I pray for Israel.
Lord shorten the time of distress.
Come like a Mighty Man, brining your reward with you.
I pray for the peace of Jerusalem.
Save the perishing.
Let every knee bow and every tongue confess that Jesus is Lord, to your Glory.
Send your Great Mercy and save souls.
Give peace to your Saints as you build our confident trust in you.
Bless and support your people today in their work.
Comfort the stricken.
Open wide doors of your providence.
Give us Hind's feet in our high places.
strengthen the feeble hand, steady the knee that gives way. Make levels paths that do not disable the lame.
Bring us safely in return this evening.
Let your Word take up its abode in our hearts today.
I ask in the Mighty Name of Jesus

Amen to your Beautiful Prayers, Scriptures, and Meditations you Prepare for us and for our Christ. It is a Wonderful Devotional Time to Come Here and Savor your Offerings to our King.

I will Sing of the Lord’s Unfailing Love Forever!
Young and old will hear of Your Faithfulness.
Your Unfailing Love will Last Forever.
Your Faithfulness is as Enduring as the Heavens.
The Lord said, “I have made a covenant with David, My Chosen Servant.
I have sworn this Oath to him:
‘I will Establish your Descendants as kings Forever;
They will Sit on your throne from Now Until Eternity.’”

All Heaven will Praise Your Great Wonders, Lord;
Myriads of Angels will Praise You for Your Faithfulness.
For Who in All of Heaven can Compare with the Lord?
What Mightiest Angel is Anything like the Lord?
The Highest Angelic Powers Stand in Awe of God.
He is Far More Awesome than All who Surround His Throne.
O Lord God of Heaven’s Armies!
Where is there anyone as Mighty as You, O Lord?
You are Entirely Faithful. (Ps.1-8)

Blessed be Jehovah God, the God of Israel,
Who Only Does Wonderful Things!
Blessed be His Glorious Name Forever!
Let the Whole Earth be Filled with His Glory. Amen and Amen! (Ps.72:18,19)

Thank You our Precious Master of Grace for Your Every Blessing, and Your Love. You are our King Forever, and we Love and Glorify Your Name. Be the Strength of Your Children, our Gracious Savior. 'I will Tell Everyone how Good You are, and of Your Constant, Daily Care. I will Walk in the Strength of the Lord God.' (Ps.71:15) Thank You for Pouring Your Love Upon us, our Shepherd-King. In Your Glorious Name we Praise You, Father God, amen.

Oh Knitting, what a joy to read these posts.

A wee bit of a update on me. I haven't been able to be up and about like would like. I still am so weak. The severe pain is almost licked, but the weakness and feeling faint is a big problem to me.I also can't be on the computer very long as the screen hurts my eyes. I think God has allowed me to be flat on my back for a purpose. I am asking Him to teach me whatever it is that I need to learn in this illness. Love to you all, Polly

Psa 25:12 Who is the man who fears the LORD? Him will he instruct in the way that he should choose.
Psa 25:13 His soul shall abide in well-being, and his offspring shall inherit the land.
Psa 25:14 The friendship of the LORD is for those who fear him, and he makes known to them his covenant.
............
Psa 33:18 Behold, the eye of the LORD is on those who fear him, on those who hope in his steadfast love,
Psa 33:19 that he may deliver their soul from death and keep them alive in famine.
............
Psa 34:7 The angel of the LORD encamps around those who fear him, and delivers them.
.............
Psa 34:9 Oh, fear the LORD, you his saints, for those who fear him have no lack!
Psa 34:10 The young lions suffer want and hunger; but those who seek the LORD lack no good thing.
.............
Psa 67:7 God shall bless us; let all the ends of the earth fear him!
..............
Psa 85:9 Surely his salvation is near to those who fear him, that glory may dwell in our land.
..............
Psa 103:11 For as high as the heavens are above the earth, so great is his steadfast love toward those who fear him;
.............
Psa 145:19 He fulfills the desire of those who fear him; he also hears their cry and saves them.
............
Psa 147:11 but the LORD takes pleasure in those who fear him, in those who hope in his steadfast love.
............
Mat 10:28 And do not fear those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. Rather fear him who can destroy both soul and body in hell.
............
Rev 14:7 And he said with a loud voice, "Fear God and give him glory, because the hour of his judgment has come, and worship him who made heaven and earth, the sea and the springs of water."
..............
Rev 19:5 And from the throne came a voice saying, "Praise our God, all you his servants, you who fear him, small and great."

Brothers and Sisters, let us Fear the LORD.

Bless God the Lord

O thou my soul, bless God the Lord;
And all that in me is
Be stirrèd up His holy Name
To magnify and bless.

Bless, O my soul, the Lord thy God,
And not forgetful be
Of all His gracious benefits
He hath bestowed on thee.

Such pity as a father hath
And shows his children dear,
Like pity shows the Lord to such
As worship Him in fear.

Yea, unto them that fear the Lord
His mercy never ends;
And to their children’s children still
His righteousness extends.

To such as keep His covenant
Nor from it go astray,
Who His commandments bear in mind
And faithfully obey.

Jesus said to the crowds:
“Come to me, all you who labor and are burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me,
for I am meek and humble of heart; and you will find rest for yourselves. For my yoke is easy, and my burden light.”
Matthew 11: 28-30

In your arms O Lord
let me cast all my weariness,
fear,
sadness,
loss.
In your eyes I see love,
in your touch,
healing,
in your voice,
caring,
and in your presence,
peace.

O Lord,
how could I know
that there was just a Jesus shaped hole
in my heart,
that only you can fill,
although so many times
I have tried to fill it
with friends
and work
and money
and things
and hobbies
and pleasure
and yet,
only you can take that emptiness
and turn it into joy.

In your rest,
I find my hope.
In your peace
I find my tomorrow
and in your joy
I know
that you are the one good thing
I need,
and when all other pleasures fail,
and friends turn away,
and things wear out,
you will still be there,
the same today as yesterday,
waiting to take me to tomorrow.

Deo gratias.

Amen.

Joh 15:12 This is my commandment, That ye love one another, as I have loved you.
.........
Eph 5:2 And walk in love, as Christ also hath loved us, and hath given himself for us an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweetsmelling savour.
.........
Gal 5:14 For all the law is fulfilled in one word, even in this; Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.
..........
Joh 13:34 A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another.
........
Gal 6:2 Bear ye one another's burdens, and so fulfil the law of Christ.

Father, thank you for a new day, another day that you have made.
We will rejoice and be glad in it.
Father, I am particularly thankful for the Consolation found in your Word and the comfort for us in Your Holy Spirit.
Your Word says YOU ARE LOVE. I long to comprehend this. I thank you for the deep Joy, Peace and Holiness that attends us, a Pure and Glorious gift from your Hand.
I thank you that Rush glorified you yesterday. Bless him and open his mouth with Your Truth.
Help us love one another. Give us your power to carry the heavy load, and lend comfort through word and deed.
You have not left us orphans, but have sent your Most Holy Spirit to walk along side us. Fill us again today.
Bring us home in safety at day's end.
I especially pray that your sweet love would ease mourning today, and shatter the darkness of depression.
Come to our aid swiftly, oh Redeemer King.

http://www.cyberhymnal.org/htm/j/l/jlmysoul.htm

Jesus, lover of my soul, let me to Thy bosom fly,
While the nearer waters roll, while the tempest still is high.
Hide me, O my Savior, hide, till the storm of life is past;
Safe into the haven guide; O receive my soul at last.

Other refuge have I none, hangs my helpless soul on Thee;
Leave, ah! leave me not alone, still support and comfort me.
All my trust on Thee is stayed, all my help from Thee I bring;
Cover my defenseless head with the shadow of Thy wing.

Wilt Thou not regard my call? Wilt Thou not accept my prayer?
Lo! I sink, I faint, I fall—Lo! on Thee I cast my care;
Reach me out Thy gracious hand! While I of Thy strength receive,
Hoping against hope I stand, dying, and behold, I live.

Thou, O Christ, art all I want, more than all in Thee I find;
Raise the fallen, cheer the faint, heal the sick, and lead the blind.
Just and holy is Thy Name, I am all unrighteousness;
False and full of sin I am; Thou art full of truth and grace.

Plenteous grace with Thee is found, grace to cover all my sin;
Let the healing streams abound; make and keep me pure within.
Thou of life the fountain art, freely let me take of Thee;
Spring Thou up within my heart; rise to all eternity.
