The Prayer Room: Praying for America, FR, and all who need it
Various | 11/8/06 | Knitting a Conundrum

Unless the LORD builds the house, those who build it labor in vain. Unless the LORD watches over the city, the watchman stays awake in vain.

Psalm 127:1
>

At this time, when feelings run high, the world seems crazy, and anger seems to be the one thing the peoples of the world have in common, I invite you, my fellow FReepers, to join me in prayers and meditation for guidance, God's help and for our fellow man, for America, our troops,  and all our own needs.

Sweet hour of prayer! sweet hour of prayer!
That calls me from a world of care,
And bids me at my Father’s throne
Make all my wants and wishes known.
In seasons of distress and grief,
My soul has often found relief
And oft escaped the tempter’s snare
By thy return, sweet hour of prayer!

William Bradbury

God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.
Therefore we will not fear though the earth should change,
though the mountains shake in the heart of the sea;
though its waters roar and foam,
though the mountains tremble with its tumult.

Psalm 46: 1-3

Glad you're back.

1Sa 4:5 And when the ark of the covenant of the LORD came into the camp, all Israel shouted with a great shout, so that the earth rang again.

Oh Lord, thank you for this day. We will raise a great shout of joy when you turn the hearts of our countrymen back to you, and the earth will ring again.

Ezr 3:11 And they sang together by course in praising and giving thanks unto the LORD; because he is good, for his mercy endureth for ever toward Israel. And all the people shouted with a great shout, when they praised the LORD, because the foundation of the house of the LORD was laid.

Lay again your foundations. The foundation of your word, Jesus Christ, which other foundation can no one lay. Help us to build on it gold, silver and precious stones, treasure in heaven.

Psa 5:11 But let all those that put their trust in thee rejoice: let them ever shout for joy, because thou defendest them: let them also that love thy name be joyful in thee.

You are our shield and buckler.

Psa 32:11 Be glad in the LORD, and rejoice, ye righteous: and shout for joy, all ye that are upright in heart.

Psa 47:5 God is gone up with a shout, the LORD with the sound of a trumpet.

Psa 132:9 Let thy priests be clothed with righteousness; and let thy saints shout for joy.

Zec 9:9 Rejoice greatly, O daughter of Zion! Shout aloud, O daughter of Jerusalem! behold, your king is coming to you; righteous and having salvation is he, humble and mounted on a donkey, on a colt, the foal of a donkey.

1Th 4:16 For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:
1Th 4:17 Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.
1Th 4:18 Wherefore comfort one another with these words.

Father, let the earth resound today with the shouts of your saints in victory for the King that is coming. We praise you for all your mighty works and your great love. We shout with the voice of triumph in Christ Jesus our Lord.

This is an excerpt from The Great Revival in Wales by S. B. Shaw, published in 1905.

The true origin of the revival is probably to be found in the prayer circles that honeycombed Wales for the last 18 months. The people who had banded themselves together were crying out mightily for a revival, and God at length graciously answered the prayers of His saints.

And it is interesting to Americans to know how the prayer circles were started. A lady living in Australia read a book by Dr. Torrey in which he reiterated the statement that we must "pray through."

At that time, Dr. Torrey and Mr. Alexander were conducting their great revival in Melbourne, the success of which was largely due to the 2000 prayer circles that existed throughout the city.

Shortly afterward, the lady came to England, and was the means of starting thousands of prayer circles throughout the United Kingdom, the object of which was it pray for worldwide revival.

The answer has come in part in the Welsh awakening, and may God speed the day it will spread over all the United Kingdom, and over America, and throughout the entire world!..."

IT DID.
THAT WAS THE LAST, GREAT, GLOBAL AWAKENING OF THE CHURCH BY THE HOLY SPIRIT.
HE CAN DO IT AGAIN IF WE ASK, AND PRAY. WILL YOU JOIN ME AND SO MANY OTHERS?
START A PRAYER GROUP AT CHURCH THIS SUNDAY, WITH YOUR SUNDAY SCHOOL CLASS, SMALL GROUP, OR A CIRCLE OF FRIENDS, AND SEEK THE LORD WHILE HE MAY BE FOUND.

Rev 15:3 And they sing the song of Moses, the servant of God, and the song of the Lamb, saying, "Great and amazing are your deeds, O Lord God the Almighty! Just and true are your ways, O King of the nations!
Rev 15:4 Who will not fear, O Lord, and glorify your name? For you alone are holy. All nations will come and worship you, for your righteous acts have been revealed."

Heb 12:28 Therefore let us be grateful for receiving a kingdom that cannot be shaken, and thus let us offer to God acceptable worship, with reverence and awe,
Heb 12:29 for our God is a consuming fire.

Joh 4:21 Jesus said to her, "Woman, believe me, the hour is coming when neither on this mountain nor in Jerusalem will you worship the Father.
Joh 4:22 You worship what you do not know; we worship what we know, for salvation is from the Jews.
Joh 4:23 But the hour is coming, and is now here, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth, for the Father is seeking such people to worship him.
Joh 4:24 God is spirit, and those who worship him must worship in spirit and truth."

Lord of all, we worship you. Keep us in your loving hand tonight. We are your people and the sheep of your pasture. Let your Name be over all in Heaven, earth, and under the earth, to the glory of the Father. You are Worthy, Oh Lord to receive honor and glory and power and dominion, for ever and ever without end, AMEN.

This is a wonderful thread.

Please continue to pray as this was a bad, bad day.

Today was a bad day but I guess that depends on how you look at it.

Beginning on Thursday, I called my husband and left him some messages to get back with me as the kids were in need of some things--clothes, shoes, etc. He never called me back but late last night he called my oldest and asked him about it. My son did not say much but told me about it. I phoned husband back and left him a message (he never answers his phone if I call) and told him that since I was the one who called him, he should have called me back. I explained what they needed and even gave him a time of when to be here.

Today came and went and my son said he needed money and I told him I did not have any. What did I do? I was no longer going to play chicken and put my son into the car and drove over to that house. Without getting out of my car and staying on the street behind his car, I called his cell which he would not answer so I honked my horn. Out comes his girlfriend's married daughter out onto her driveway. She told me to stay away from her mom, and I asked her how she would like it if her husband were cheating on her (she is married with two small kids and it is the daughter's house). She said she could care less if her husband was cheating on her. I told her it certainly mattered to me. My husband would not step foot beyond the doorway and I told him to get out here, his kids need him, etc. He told me to go home. I told him that I had called him. I was so mad that I told him he deserved whatever punishment the judge gives him in two weeks. Right when we got home, the girls told me their dad called them, said he would come over on Sunday to take them out and that he loved them. Now, why would it take me going over there for him to call his daughters? He never calls them!

My cousin's wife had called and I was so upset and she talked to me for awhile and then she called my husband. She said they talked for awhile and he was attentive and polite. She asked him if he loved me and he said he did not. She asked when he came to this conclusion and he said he did not know. She asked him if he was ever happy and he said he was. He seems to think I bad mouth him and she told him nothing could be further than the truth. Then he told her that all he wants is to be with his kids. She told him that she suggests he talk to me, make things right and go home, that the woman he is with is no good. He said not a word but he did say he could not talk to me and she asked why not and he said he did not know. She told him to write me a letter and he said I would use it against him. I told her all of this is strange coming from a man who told me he loved me less than a year ago. He told her he had no one to talk to, no friends, nothing. She told him she would be happy to talk to him and told him she would pray for him, etc. He told her I need counseling and she told him that I had been going to counseling for awhile now.

A few hours after that, husband called our son and he said he would be at our house between 12-1 on Sunday to pick the kids up but refuses to come into the house.

My husband has been captured by Satan. My middle child will not go out with him because he has told her that all of the kids were mistakes that should have never been. He has flipped his mind. She is a very strong child and very spiritual.

The strange thing is that he did not tell my cousin that he wants a divorce.

Life really has a way of throwing us some curveballs but God is always there for us.

I'm sorry. the Lord defends widows and orphans, which you are essentially in this case of abandonment. I will pray for you again, as I know many will. Trust the Lord.
Father, show yourself strong in their behalf.... Help them seek you with a whole heart. Give them great faith. give the Mom wisdom to know where the children need to be. Put a hedge of protection about them all. Father, please provide what they need. Thank you for the relatives that help. Be a shield and reward for this family. Rebuke the enemy for their sake. Protect them with your Holy Angels. In the Name of Jesus, I ask you to lighten the burden and oppression over this Mom and children. Help them to see your hand move in their behalf. Keep the evil one far away. Give wisdom, again to Mom about the children. In Jesus' name i ask this.

I have been a busy little FReePeR this first Sunday of Advent. We now have a Candle Room for the FRPR - FR Prayer Room, which you will find here:

Light An FR Prayer Room Candle

There has been a candle lit for you. Look for your "initials" - the first 5 letters (sometimes less) of your FReepername - to find your candle and read a message to you.

Please, please, add your own candles and any messages or prayer requests or simple prayers to our Candle Room and enjoy! Each candle stays lit only 2 days, 48 hours, so go back and visit often, adding and lighting any you want.

God Bless Us, One and All!

Thank you for the candle for Wayne in my name. This Prayer Room candle is fantastic, I truly appreciate all your work in setting it up. I know that I'll be visiting it often to keep all my Prayer candles lit.

You're so welcome. Hope it helps. You can add any you want to, or start new ones to replace one if it burns out. Your messages will be read by anyone, just as you can read the messages to others.

Make yourself at home there!

Today is the first Sunday of Advent. Advent is a time when it is good to concentrate not on all of the commercial things about Christmas, but why the birth of Jesus, his willingness to become enfleshed and join us humans so that he might save us is so important. It is a way to get away from the Santa Claus culture and think about why this is so special, why, as the old slogan goes, Jesus is the reason for the season.

I wrote this prayer a while back for this time of the year:

O Lord God, our Father Almighty,
You who were pleased that your only begotton Son
should take flesh from a virgin
and be made man for our salvation,
You who sent your angel Gabriel to Mary
with the good tidings of his conception,
You were the one who had decided that before all ages
that she should be the instrument of such a great mystery.

Like Gabriel did of old,
announce to our souls the good news,
the glad tidings of the forgiveness of sins
through your grace and mercy and and love.
Speak peace to your people,
Help us walk the path that will make us well pleasing in your sight
through your kindness and mercy,
and may our feet never stray
from the road to your heavenly kingdom
opened up to us through the mercy and love of Jesus your Son
for a sad and suffering mankind.

O Lord, during this advent season,
soften our hearts,
open our eyes,
and may we ponder the truth of a God who truly loves us,
this day, and always.

Amen.

Many hugs for you, and sincere prayers for your husband's spiritual healing.

O Lord, send your angels to guard this family. Like you touched so many troubled people and brought them healing from the darkness, touch hsmomx3's husband, and release him from the darkness touching his soul, so that he may be open to the truth and love and commitment he made. May the gifts of love, and forgiveness and reconcilliation touch this family in just the right way so that they may be bonded together as a family in the way you would want them to.

O Father Almighty, I ask this in the name of your son Jesus, Amen.
