Unless the LORD builds the house, those who build it labor in vain. Unless the LORD watches over the city, the watchman stays awake in vain.
Psalm 127:1>
At this time, when feelings run high, the world seems crazy, and anger seems to be the one thing the peoples of the world have in common, I invite you, my fellow FReepers, to join me in prayers and meditation for guidance, God's help and for our fellow man, for America, our troops, and all our own needs.
Sweet hour of prayer! sweet hour of prayer!
That calls me from a world of care,
And bids me at my Fathers throne
Make all my wants and wishes known.
In seasons of distress and grief,
My soul has often found relief
And oft escaped the tempters snare
By thy return, sweet hour of prayer!
William Bradbury
God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.
Therefore we will not fear though the earth should change,
though the mountains shake in the heart of the sea;
though its waters roar and foam,
though the mountains tremble with its tumult.
Psalm 46: 1-3
I Spent the Day Watching the Little Baby Birds that Dwell in the Nest on my Back Porch, and they are Finally Old Enough to Hold their Heads Up where I can See them; they are the Most Delicate and Cutest Little Things, with Soft Downy Feathers Framing their Faces so Sweetly. Our God, Who Made these Little Birds, and Who Sprinkles the Night Sky with Stars, is So Worthy of our Highest Praise. What a Glorious Lord He is!
Your Majesty, Your Glory is Lifting our Hearts; All Creation Magnifies Your Name. We Worship You, and Love You, our Heavenly Designer-King. Here is a verse and a quote about perseverance: "A lack of endurance is one of the greatest causes of defeat, especially in prayer. We don't wait well. We're into microwaving; God, on the other hand, is usually into marinating."
"Stubbornness can be channeled into a righteous force called persistence. It is one of the most important spiritual attributes of the Christian life."
Charles Spurgeon said, "By perseverance the snail reached the ark."
"Let us not lose heart in doing good, for in due time we shall reap if we do not grow weary (or lose heart)". Galatians 6:9
Thanks Polly.
That was a Blessing.
Miss you.
Kitty Mittens,
I rejoice with you over the Beauty of his Creation.
Rom 1:20 For the unseen things of Him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things made, both His eternal power and Godhead................
bp,
I have really been going through the mill, to be honest. I hate to continually be on the “ needing” end here, so I often just read..... guess I am missing a blessing.
We are now faced with raising our 8 year old grandson, along with a 16 year old special need daughter. Our grown, adult children have had turbulant marriages. A far cry from what I ever thought our world would look like. Raising them in a Christian home. Surrounded by God’s Word, and love, I wouldn’t have dreamed things would be like this.....it sent me down hill physically in November and I haven’t really recouped. I go in for surgery a week from Tuesday and hopefully will be working towards some healing in my life.
Am I downtrodden? NO! God is alive and will win the battles in my life....infact His Word says that these trials are our “ friends”.
Hugs to you all,
Polly
Dear Polly,
I will pray that your body will endure and heal.
I thank God that He is holding you and strengthening you day by day.
May He give you deep rest and bless you while you sleep.
I also ask for His provision for your situation, and that your children would turn their hearts to Him fully.
His Love Never Fails.

O for a thousand tongues to sing
My great Redeemers praise,
The glories of my God and King,
The triumphs of His grace!
My gracious Master and my God,
Assist me to proclaim,
To spread through all the earth abroad
The honors of Thy name.
Jesus! the name that charms our fears,
That bids our sorrows cease;
Tis music in the sinners ears,
Tis life, and health, and peace.
He breaks the power of canceled sin,
He sets the prisoner free;
His blood can make the foulest clean,
His blood availed for me.
He speaks, and, listening to His voice,
New life the dead receive,
The mournful, broken hearts rejoice,
The humble poor believe.
Hear Him, ye deaf; His praise, ye dumb,
Your loosened tongues employ;
Ye blind, behold your Savior come,
And leap, ye lame, for joy.
In Christ your Head, you then shall know,
Shall feel your sins forgiven;
Anticipate your heaven below,
And own that love is heaven.
Glory to God, and praise and love
Be ever, ever given,
By saints below and saints above,
The church in earth and heaven.
O Splendor of God's Glory Bright
O splendor of Gods glory bright,
From light eternal bringing light,
Thou Light of light, lights living Spring,
True Day, all days illumining.
Come, very Sun of Heavens love,
In lasting radiance from above,
And pour the Holy Spirits ray
On all we think or do today.
And now to Thee our prayrs ascend,
O Father glorious without end;
We plead with Sovereign Grace for powr
To conquer in temptations hour.
Confirm our will to do the right,
And keep our hearts from envys blight;
Let faith her eager fires renew,
And hate the false, and love the true.
O joyful be the passing day
With thoughts as pure as mornings ray,
With faith like noontide shining bright,
Our souls unshadowed by the night.
Dawns glory gilds the earth and skies,
Let Him, our prefect Morn, arise,
The Word in God the Father one,
The Father imaged by the Son.
~Ambrose (who baptised Augustine)
We praise Thee, O God, our Redeemer, Creator,
In grateful devotion our tribute we bring;
We lay it before Thee, we kneel and adore Thee,
We bless Thy holy Name, glad praises we sing.
We worship Thee, God of our fathers, we bless Thee;
Through lifes storm and tempest our guide have Thou been;
When perils overtake us, escape Thou will make us,
And with Thy help, O Lord, our battles we win.
With voices united our praises we offer,
To Thee, great Jehovah, glad anthems we raise.
Thy strong arm will guide us, our God is beside us,
To Thee, our great Redeemer, forever be praise.

I Need Thee Every Hour Lyrics: Annie S. Hawks, 1872. Composer: Robert Lowry.
I need Thee every hour, most gracious Lord;
No tender voice like Thine can peace afford.
I need Thee, O I need Thee;
Every hour I need Thee;
O bless me now, my Savior,
I come to Thee.
I need Thee every hour, stay Thou nearby;
Temptations lose their power when Thou art nigh.
I need Thee, O I need Thee;
Every hour I need Thee;
O bless me now, my Savior,
I come to Thee.
I need Thee every hour, in joy or pain;
Come quickly and abide, or life is in vain.
I need Thee, O I need Thee;
Every hour I need Thee;
O bless me now, my Savior,
I come to Thee.
I need Thee every hour, most Holy One;
O make me Thine indeed, Thou blessed Son.
I need Thee, O I need Thee;
Every hour I need Thee;
O bless me now, my Savior,
I come to Thee.
'I love you, God you make me strong.
God is bedrock under my feet,
The castle in which I live,
My rescuing knight.
My Godthe high crag
Where I run for dear life,
Hiding behind the boulders,
Safe in the granite hideout.
I sing to God, the Praise-Lofty,
And find myself safe and saved.' (Ps.18:1-3)
Praying for Alas Bablyon’s mom and for strength for Alas Bablyon.

Prayer needs request:
2, actually.
1) is for a grandma who has custody of two of her grandkids, and for the son who is expecting another child and wants the kids back. Praying for God’s will be done, and that God touches the hearts of the son and his girlfriend.
2) For Jim Robinson and FR, and our work here, that those who stand against the good, who stand for the culture of death and the PC nastiness that threatens all of us can be contained and that the right persons be elected.
I am also thinking about starting a thread to pray for JR and Free Republic, that they can be a tool for standing against the forces that want to destroy us. If you’d like to join me in that thread, please let me know, and pass the word to anyone you think might be interested to let me know.
