The Prayer Room: Praying for America, FR, and all who need it
Various | 11/8/06 | Knitting a Conundrum

Posted on 11/09/2006 6:49:58 PM PST by Knitting A Conundrum

Unless the LORD builds the house, those who build it labor in vain. Unless the LORD watches over the city, the watchman stays awake in vain.

Psalm 127:1
>

At this time, when feelings run high, the world seems crazy, and anger seems to be the one thing the peoples of the world have in common, I invite you, my fellow FReepers, to join me in prayers and meditation for guidance, God's help and for our fellow man, for America, our troops,  and all our own needs.

Sweet hour of prayer! sweet hour of prayer!
That calls me from a world of care,
And bids me at my Father’s throne
Make all my wants and wishes known.
In seasons of distress and grief,
My soul has often found relief
And oft escaped the tempter’s snare
By thy return, sweet hour of prayer!

William Bradbury

God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.
Therefore we will not fear though the earth should change,
though the mountains shake in the heart of the sea;
though its waters roar and foam,
though the mountains tremble with its tumult.

Psalm 46: 1-3

Jesus, keep me near the cross,
There a precious fountain
Free to all, a healing stream
Flows from Calvary’s mountain.

Refrain

In the cross, in the cross,
Be my glory ever;
Till my raptured soul shall find
Rest beyond the river.

Near the cross, a trembling soul,
Love and mercy found me;
There the bright and morning star
Sheds its beams around me.

Refrain

Near the cross! O Lamb of God,
Bring its scenes before me;
Help me walk from day to day,
With its shadows o’er me.

Refrain

Near the cross I’ll watch and wait
Hoping, trusting ever,
Till I reach the golden strand,
Just beyond the river.

Dear LORD, sometimes it's good to be quiet and think about all you have done.
I ask tonight that you would comfort those who cry to you. Help them to remember that you hear them and you are keeping and guiding them at all times.
Give them that peace that passes understanding.
Give them a sweet time of prayer and fellowship in your Holy Spirit.
Give us rest tonight that will strengthen us for tomorrow.
Let your Kingdom come and your will be done on earth as it is in heaven.
In the Name of Jesus I pray.

Psa 90:2 Before the mountains were brought forth, or ever you had formed the earth and the world, from everlasting to everlasting you are God.

Can I ask our prayer room for special prayer tonight and tomorrow? I have mentioned before that we are faced with a decision concerning our 8 year old grandson. We need to let the Department of Children's Services know tomorrow morning whether we plan on adoption or taking legal guardianship over him.The re-unification rights for our daughter were terminated some time ago and we are facing what is called a PPH hearing on Thursday of this week. We must make the decision by TOMORROW AM! I am so torn. I have spent most of the day in tears.This is the most difficult decision I have ever been forced to make... along with my dear hubby. Could you lift us up before the Lord?

How quick we are to criticize,
How quick we are to hate,
How easy it's to strike and hurt,
Plot and retaliate.

But He knelt in the garden
In agony to pray,
To free us from the pain and hurt
The fruit of Cain's dark way.

How quick we are to doubt Him,
to justify our wants,
to find a reason to strike out,
Harsh words and angry taunts.

But He bore taunts to free us,
A crown of piercing thorn,
The harsh bite of the burning whip
To help us be reborn.

How quick we turn away from Him
For what a heart of darkness brings,
Power, lust, and anger
We choose as finer things.

But He let them lie about Him,
Condemn Him for no wrong,
So that He might open up the door
To save us from night's song.

How quick we lie about Him,
To weaken his bright light,
To use Him as a reason
To make our wrong our right.

But for us He took that heavy cross,
And walked that last hard road,
To save us from our hurting wounds,
Sin's dark and heavy load.

O open up our cold, hard hearts
And see you standing there,
The hand outstretched and pierced for us,
The depth of love and care.

O let us feel your loving touch,
And know the wrong we do,
And falling on our knees, O Lord,
Open up to you.

Forgive us, Lord, for loving dark,
Then crying from its pain,
O let us see the truth we've wrought,
The dark that is our stain.

O may we be as quick, O Lord,
To turn our hearts to you.
Guide us to your morning light,
Our hope, reborn, anew.

Pro 3:5 Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding.
Pro 3:6 In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths.

Psa 143:8 Let me hear in the morning of your steadfast love,(Hesed) for in you I trust. Make me know the way I should go, for to you I lift up my soul.

Psa 125:1 A Song of Ascents. Those who trust in the LORD are like Mount Zion, which cannot be moved, but abides forever.
Psa 125:2 As the mountains surround Jerusalem, so the LORD surrounds his people, from this time forth and forevermore.

1Pe 1:6 In this you rejoice, though now for a little while, if necessary, you have been grieved by various trials,
1Pe 1:7 so that the tested genuineness of your faith--more precious than gold that perishes though it is tested by fire--may be found to result in praise and glory and honor at the revelation of Jesus Christ.

Because He Lives

God sent His Son, they called Him Jesus
He came to love, heal and forgive
He lived and died, to buy my pardon
An empty grave is there to prove my Savior lives

Because He lives, I can face tomorrow
Because He lives, all fear is gone
Because I know who holds the future
My life is worth the living just because He lives

Wonderful Saviour, help us to walk by faith and not by sight and to wait on you to part the Red Sea today.
And where there are more mundane matters, help us to rejoice in the Way you have given us.
Give us the precious fellowship of the Holy Spirit as He comes along side us and speaks to us of the things concerning You.
You are Holy and Worthy of our praise and thanksgiving.

Psa 47:1 To the choirmaster. A Psalm of the Sons of Korah. Clap your hands, all peoples! Shout to God with loud songs of joy!
Psa 47:2 For the LORD, the Most High, is to be feared, a great king over all the earth.

Praying All is Going Well, Dear Polly.

Most Holy Lord Jesus,

We Come to Worship Before Thee, O Lord, to Honor the Excellency and Majesty of Your Name. You have Been so Good to us, So Kind, we cannot Cease to Offer our Praise. You Walk with us through our Awful Trials; You Raise us Up to Partake of Life's Joys. Please Accept the Thanksgiving of our Hearts, and Be Pleased with our Praise, our Beloved, Caring God.

We Remember our Nation in Prayer, our King, and Request a Revival by Thy Spirit, through Grace. We Plead for the Salvation of Souls, that at Any Moment will Fall to the Abyss. Please Shower our America with the Mercies of Jesus, O Loving Lord, O Master of Great Grace. Wrap our Military in Strength, O God, that they will be Invincible to their Foes. Make this Nation a Place of Prayer, where Jesus is Lord, and Master, and King.

We Pray, Father Jehovah, that our President will be Protected in Thy Love. We Pray he will be a Faithful Man of God, and through his Testimony Lead Many to Forever-Life. Keep at Bay All who would Harm him, and Help him to Walk in Thy Holy and Righteous Ways.

We Pray for Thy Family, King Jesus, that we will be Granted Blessings, Grace, and Peace. We Ask for Special Favor to Rest Upon Thy Witnesses throughout the Earth. Help them, Strengthen them, and Protect them, our Gracious God.

Psa 61:1 To the chief Musician upon Neginah, A Psalm of David. Hear my cry, O God; attend unto my prayer.
Psa 61:2 From the end of the earth will I cry unto thee, when my heart is overwhelmed: lead me to the rock that is higher than I.
Psa 61:3 For thou hast been a shelter for me, and a strong tower from the enemy.
Psa 61:4 I will abide in thy tabernacle forever: I will trust in the covert of thy wings. Selah.
Psa 61:5 For thou, O God, hast heard my vows: thou hast given me the heritage of those that fear thy name.
.........
Psa 61:8 So will I sing praise unto thy name forever, that I may daily perform my vows.

http://www.cyberhymnal.org/htm/o/g/ogregard.htm

O God, regard my humble plea;
I cannot be so far from Thee
But Thou wilt hear my cry;
When I by trouble am distressed,
Then lead me on the Rock to rest
That higher is than I.

In Thee my soul has shelter found,
And Thou hast been from foes around
The Tower to which I flee.
Within Thy house will I abide;
My Refuge sure, whate’er betide,
Thy sheltering wings shall be.

For Thou, my God, my vows hast heard,
On me the heritage conferred
Of those that fear Thy Name;
A blest anointing Thou dost give,
And Thou wilt make me ever live
Thy praises to proclaim.

Before Thy face shall I abide;
O God, Thy truth and grace provide
To guard me in the way;
So I will make Thy praises known,
And, humbly bending at Thy throne,
My vows will daily pay.

Oh Loving and Faithful Father in Heaven,
When darkness covers my understanding, let the light of faith shine so that your Truth is what I seek when I can't see what lies ahead.
Thank you that you never leave us or forsake us, but are always watching before us.
You are Mighty and none can be snatched out of your hand.
Who is your advisor, or who showed you how to form the earth and worlds?
There is no one like the LORD our God, the Redeemer, the Rock of ages.
I ask for blessings for my brothers and sisters in their circumstances.
Lead them to the Rock.
Give them hinds feet in their high places.
Bless your Church today.
Give us the bread to eat that gives us Life and that Water to drink, after which we will not thirst.
In the Name of King Jesus, I ask this.

Amen to your Beautiful Offerings to our King!

Jehovah Shalem, The Lord Send Peace (Judges, vi.25)

Jesus! whose blood so freely stream'd
To satisfy the law's demand;
By Thee from guilt and wrath redeem'd,
Before the Father's face I stand.

To reconcile offending man,
Make Justice drop her angry rod;
What creature could have form'd the plan,
Or who fulfil it but a God?

No drop remains of all the curse,
For wretches who deserved the whole;
No arrows dipt in wrath to pierce
The guilty, but returning soul.

Peace by such means so dearly bought,
What rebel could have hoped to see?
Peace by his injured Sovereign wrought,
His Sovereign fasten'd to a tree.

Now, Lord, Thy feeble worm prepare!
For strife with earth and hell begins;
Conform and gird me for the war;
They hate the soul that hates his sins.

Let them in horrid league agree!
They may assault, they may distress;
But cannot quench Thy love to me,
Nor rob me of the Lord my peace. ***William Cowper***

Thank You, my Lord, for Thy Peace in the Midst of the Storms. Glory to Your Name Forever, my Savior and King! O Magnificent, Eternal God, to You be Everlasting Praise!

Grant to Your Children Blessings and Grace, and Send Thy Help and Jehovah-Strength. We Love You, Your Majesty! Together we Worship our Great Lord of Hosts!

Be Adored and Exalted, our Dear Father Yahweh! In our Christ's Name, for the Glory of the King, amen.

Forgive us Lord,
for speaking hate and
acting as if humor excuses it.

Forgive us, Lord,
for acting as if words we spin
make the reality,
excusing all wrongdoing.

Forgive us, Lord,
For acting as if our personal wishes
are all that we need
do decide if something's right
or horridly wrong.

Forgive us of being so eager
to make a monster of the person
who does not agree with us.

Forgive us in our refusal
to see each and every one on earth
as created by God,
and thus worthy of consideration.

Forgive us in turning you into a clown,
a puppet we can use to get our way.

Forgive us for using you as a weapon
to turn hardhearted away from our brothers,
to strike the other cheek
as if in holy retribution.

Help us cling to your light,
even as the world has us grasped by the ankles,
pulling us into that cesspool of night.

Amen.
