Unless the LORD builds the house, those who build it labor in vain. Unless the LORD watches over the city, the watchman stays awake in vain.
Psalm 127:1>
At this time, when feelings run high, the world seems crazy, and anger seems to be the one thing the peoples of the world have in common, I invite you, my fellow FReepers, to join me in prayers and meditation for guidance, God's help and for our fellow man, for America, our troops, and all our own needs.
Sweet hour of prayer! sweet hour of prayer!
That calls me from a world of care,
And bids me at my Fathers throne
Make all my wants and wishes known.
In seasons of distress and grief,
My soul has often found relief
And oft escaped the tempters snare
By thy return, sweet hour of prayer!
William Bradbury
God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.
Therefore we will not fear though the earth should change,
though the mountains shake in the heart of the sea;
though its waters roar and foam,
though the mountains tremble with its tumult.
Psalm 46: 1-3
So that was you running around all over my site...now I know!
Hurting,
frustrated,
and confused,
I turn to you,
my anchor, my hope, my light.
O Lord,
so much I long to accomplish
yet
so often what I turn my hand to
seems to crumble up
and blow away
like dust,
either my standing in the way of your action,
or struggling against the current of where you would have me go.
Lord,
help me to learn
patience,
and to persevere,
to have pure motives,
to understand the paths you set me on,
to choose your way over my own,
and above all, to always be willing to say yes.

Help us to endure and receive from you that crown which will never fade.

Come, ye faithful, raise the anthem,
Cleave the skies with shouts of praise;
Sing to Him Who found a ransom,
Ancient of eternal days,
God of God, the Word Incarnate,
Whom the heaven of heaven obeys.
Ere He raised the lofty mountains,
Formed the seas, or built the sky,
Love eternal, free, and boundless,
Moved the Lord of Life to die,
Foreordained the Prince of Princes
For the throne of Calvary.
There, for us and our redemption,
See Him all His life blood pour!
There He wins our full salvation,
Dies that we may die no more;
Then, arising, lives forever,
Reigning where He was before.
High on yon celestial mountains
Stands His sapphire throne, all bright,
Midst unending alleluias
Bursting from the sons of light;
Sions people tell His praises,
Victor after hard won fight.
Bring your harps, and bring your incense,
Sweep the string and pour the lay;
Let the earth proclaim His wonders,
King of that celestial day;
He the Lamb once slain is worthy,
Who was dead and lives for ay.
Laud and honor to the Father,
Laud and honor to the Son,
Laud and honor to the Spirit,
Ever Thee and ever One,
Consubstantial, co-eternal,
While unending ages run.
Yep, those were my tiny footprints. Hope you feel better soon!
Thanks for the ping, Knitting. You may have the virus that I (and many others) just took 2 weeks to get over. So, just rest and go with the flow.
I like your poem... I really relate to the struggle and confusion, but we always return to the Lord for Peace. Maybe we don't have to try so hard, because he also reaches out for us, you see.... Let Him... Let go and let God.
HUGS.
A prayer request from FReeper Heart of Georgia:

This may be duplicate, or old news, but I'll risk an echo post...
Please keep lovely young Carrie, Freeper GretchenM's cousin, in your prayers. After her car accident last week, and 8 days of sedation, she needs our extra prayers for help coming out of her coma and recovering control of her body.
Her family is probably worn out with worry and staying at her bedside, so please lift them up to receive peace and comfort for God.

Thank you, pinz - I've been keeping a 48-hour virtual candle lit for Carrie and following all the updates on her condition.
Here's the latest update:

I should have known. ;-)
I've been in and out, and pretty scattered for the last couple of weeks. No let up in sight.
The last update is rather unsettling. This young lady needs all of the love and prayers we can muster.
I will light a candle to join yours. :-)
Carrie's is almost burned down right now, as are many others - I'll be re-lighting them all in the next couple of hoursm as they expire (they're 48 hours each).
Here's the front door:

Silly me. I lit the hard copy. LOL (It smells better, though.)
I saw Tonk's. :-( I hope he is doing well and is feeling all of the love surrounding him. :-)
Thanks, Rte66. :-)
Oops, "hoursm" really means "hours, (comma)" in Rte66ish! I have fat fingers when my proper little white cotton gloves are on.
(Lol, really! They're for protecting my rashy hands when I have a ton of cream slathered on - and protecting everything around me from the rash cream! Feel like I'm 6 years old and back in the 50s, dressed up for church - where's my petticoat?)
Hard copies *work* harder!
I'm wondering if you've got on your patent leather shoes and your hair in pincurls. Oh wait, that was Saturday night, getting ready for church.
