Weekend Ten gave us one of the more exciting games this year with West Virginia going down valiantly against Louisville 44-34. Louisville has silenced the doubters as to whether it belonged in the National Title hunt with a resounding win that wasnt as close as the score indicated. Michigan and Ohio State both won very close and competitive games against inferior opponents, which has set the national sports media abuzz about the possibilities that neither is truly the best team in the nation. Louisville is no stranger to the match up of the week as they are traveling to Piscataway, New Jersey to face the Rutgers Scarlet Knights in what is now a game for control of the much improved Big East.
The game of the year in the Big East last week has been replaced this week by the Game of the year in the Big East. With a win, Louisville will virtually clinch the conference. A Rutgers win here would mean that their showdown with West Virginia on December 2nd will be for their outright Big East crown. Louisville showed last week that their offense might be the very best in the nation. At times they looked completely unstoppable. Rutgers might have the best defense in the conference, but will they have enough offense to keep the high-powered Louisville offense on the sidelines?
Rutgers coach Greg Schiano has done an absolutely great job bringing Rutgers back from the dead in college football. They are nationally ranked, they have qualified for a bowl game now 2 years in a row, and they are in the position of holding their own destiny within the Big East. Unfortunately for Rutgers, Louisville is on a roll. They might be a bit flat coming out of the gate, but Rutgers just does not have the passing game on offense to win this game.
Wyoming at (25) BYU (-18)
BYU has a chance to gain a legit foothold within the TOP 25 for the first time in nearly a decade. Too bad virtually no one outside of the MWC will get to see this game.

Nebraska 24 A&M 14
New Mexico 31 TCU 27
Nebraska (-1) at (24) Texas A&M
This is the most winnable game left on A&Ms schedule with Texas being their final game the day after Thanksgiving. I think that Nebraska is also the better team here, but I think A&M peaked earlier this season. With the crushing loss against Oklahoma last week, I look for A&M to be a bit flat coming out. That will make all the difference.
Nebraska 24 A&M 14
(18) Wake Forest at Florida State (-8.5)
At first glance, I was wondering why FSU was favored by more than a TD. Then I remembered that since they have put Xavier Lee back at Quarterback, the FSU offense has been much more potent than in previous games. That and I think Wake may have finally exhausted their momentum. Wake has definitely improved the football program and everything past last weekend is a great addition to a great year. Look for FSU to surprise everyone and win this game.
Florida State 24 Wake Forest 22 ****UPSET ALERT****
The time/space continuum has had a lot of cracks, it just needs to be blown apart........
It won't happen until one of the Big Time programs gets shut out.
That means Texas, Ohio State, MIchigan, ND, Florida, USC or Oklahoma and Nebraska.
That's it.
Those are the only ones that could blow this thing up.
But that would never happen...../sarcasm
Nope because the Big East does not have a team with the pull of those that I listed.
It has to be one of the all-time programs from a strong conference in a year where two obviously weaker teams make it.
A multiplication of grievances, like a dripping faucet becomes a torrent. Takes time.
Auburn doesn't have the pull.
USC had a loss.
For the perfect scenario to work out, one of those big time schools has to be completely undefeated yet shut out of the BCS championship game.
The other two had a loss as well......USC was screwed. They were far better than the other two, and in the end, everyone knew it.
It only would've worked had they been undefeated and the other two would've had the loss.
IF you lose a game you are at the mercy of the system.
That's the problem with it.
But if you go undefeated, you SHOULD get a shot at the BCS National Championship.
Ah has problems with the BCS.......
Forgit....Hell!
:-)
LOL
Exactly.
Change will come.
Eventually the network head will get together and offer a comprehensive plan so that all the games in a tournament would be spread among the networks, kinda like what the NFL does with the Super Bowl.
Geau Knights.........like I really care......
Double header for me this weekend: Saturday in LA at the SC homecoming game vs Oregon, then Sunday in Oakland at the "Black Hole" to see some Shanahan "Spank You Very Much" on the Al Davis Raiders.
Here's hoping the new and improved Trojans can serve up some Duck soup...
yeah me too
Nice...
I tried that one time (OSU on Saturday and the Browns on Sunday) and that was a bit much :)
Starting on ESPN in about 1 minute

Rutgers
The evil empire would be in line for a BCS Bowl if not for 2 botched field goal attempts. That said, I would love to see the prudes from Provo go down in flames tonight. Too bad our crappy tv contract won't let us.
I think my Lobos are going to beat TCU. New Mexico is 9-0 after bye weeks since Rocky Long has been at the helm.
New Mexico 17, TCU 14.
The Evil Empire?
LOL
I don't know about you all, but I just want to be around when I'm 110, much less singing my alma mater....
Didja see the 110 y/o Rutgers alum singing the school song? Interesting connection, too. He was the class of '17, the year they honored the surviving alumni from the first game in 1969. They had a ceremony at halftime with the original college FB team present. This guy might have been there.
