I promise, this is my last vanity (for a while!)...but I'm very keen to know FReepers views on this one.
With (former) Senator George Allen now on the electoral rotiserie and clearly not a contender for 2008, who is going to keep Hitlery out of the White House?
Is there another Ronald Reagan lurking somewhere in the Republican Party?
Who can inspire the conservative masses to renew their faith in the GOP and get off their bums and vote? Who can bring those people who elected Dubya twice back to the polls, and free the Congress from 'Rat control?
No longer can we rely on the "Nobody will vote for Mrs. BJ" defense. We need someone who can, and will beat her. Better still, we need someone who can kick her fat butt back to NY, Arkansas, Chicago or wherever the hell she's from this week.
Who will it be? Do we have a political saviour out there? Will conservatives roar again, and who will lead that roar?
In a race of Rudy vs. Hillary, Rudy would do to Hillary what Reagan did to Mondale in 84.
From the first time Condi's name came up here as a potential candidate, I have doubted that an unmarried person could be elected president. I still doubt it. I don't believe the American people will elect a single person as their president.
Yes.
Mitt.
Really? Can you elaborate? Learning mode here...
9/11 made Rudy Giuliani. Most of what he accomplished prior to that he owed to able subordinates who he then forced out, when they got some ink [Bratton]. Everything else was about micromanagement [further centralizing the Board of Ed under one of his drones]. If you look up "anal retentive" [or is it compulsive?] in the dictionary, you'll see Rudy's picture. He's pro-gay, pro-abortion, anti-second amendment, and an egotist second to only Hillary. If he is the GOP's answer to 2008, God save the Republic and the rest of us.
Lincoln Chafee....

They elected Buchanan back in the 1800's. One of his female relatives accompanied him at social events. Never got married while in office either.
Unless one is a god [very few are - Michelangelo was called "divine" during his lifetime, true, but who else?], most of what one accomplishes [on a noticeable scale] is due to the subordinates. And if the accomplishment is credited to a person that necessarily means that the subordinates have been shunted aside for the credit assignment purposes, or it would be credited to them. It comes with the territory of "leadershi*", and is par for the course.
Who do you think was in charge of the Senate? HIs leadership sucks!
It's been mentioned here on FR a number of times. Obama is dirty with a guy named Rezko, who also looks like he's going to take Illinois Gov. Blagojevich down as well."
Tell us more, please. :)
ABC's Nightline Gushes: Obama, An 'American Political Phenomenon'
Tony Rezko is a zillionaire who's been indicted by the feds for influence peddling with the sitting Illinois Governor.
Rezko just pleaded excess liability of $20 million in court filings...
