Take timeout from FR for a while (Vanity post)
Me

Posted on 11/08/2006 4:57:19 PM PST by Big Steve

I have decided to take some time away from FR for a while. This election had something to do with it, I'll admit. MAybe I just need to stop feeling upset every time I read a thread on how bad it was last night. It was bad, but I believe in miracles. Maybe in 2 years the country will see how bad San Francisco style leadership is in the House and restore the House back to the Pubbies. Maybe two years in the minority will make them learn a lesson they will never forget. If they reclaim power, they better use it to advance conservative principles, or they may never get it back again.

I took a small break for that last nite...

I've seen some pics of you lately. Way too many breaks for you. At least run in place.

I have decided to take some time away from FR for a while.

I see you've been around here quite a while. We live in an imperfect world. {understatement!} Bad things happen.

Maybe you can use this as an excuse to do something new.

-Call some old friends you haven't seen in ages.
-Read to some folks in the retirement home.
-Make love to a beautiful woman on a secluded beach.
-If you're really brave, volunteer to coach Little League or teach Sunday school.

Don't get yourself in a rut. There will be other elections. Would you like to degenerate to the DU mindset that has entertained us since 2000?

Please report back soon.

LOL I know that's not the case, though.

If they could get away with it , do you think the new "Most ethical" (having a hard time typing that...fingers ROTFL)House would try to cheat?

Finish reading Canticle of Lebowitz

My nitpick: 'FOR Lebowitz'! Seriously, this is an excellent book. Helps keep things in perspective.

We must always look to the future. Tomorrow--the time that gives a man just one more chance--is one of the many things that I feel are wonderful in life. So's a good horse under you. Or the only campfire for miles around. Or a quiet night and a nice soft hunk of ground to sleep on. A mother meeting her first-born. The sound of a kid calling you dad for the first time. There's a lot of things great about life. But I think tomorrow is the most important thing. Comes in to us at midnight very clean. It's perfect when it arrives and it puts itself in our hands. It hopes we've learned something from yesterday." --John Wayne

You know Green Acres too?

Ahyup...I remember watching that before it went into reruns. 'Course, I've always been a fan of the girls from Hooterville.

(*looking at what I just wrote* Uh...yeah.)

LMAO! I forgot it even had a song till you said that. Now we can not only be depressed over this election, we can have these dumb ash jingles stuck in our head for a day or two!

We'd better be careful or we'll end up in Sing Sing.

Sorry Big Steve.

We're a tad too busy to take time out right now.
If it's the right thing for YOU to do; do it.

God bless you.

(Almost like Fonzi trying to apolo---. Well, you know.)

Yes, the MSM covered up real well for the "Ethical" Party. Wonder where they had the meeting? or if they just used e-mails? ;)

You forgot a line in the middle.

Where oh where are you tonight? Why did you leave me here all alone? I searched the world over and thought I'd found true love. But you met another and phhttt you were gone.

We watched Hee-Haw every Sunday night after church when I was a young lad.
