Will Nifong go after bloggers?

Now that the election is over and this can't be considered just an election ploy :

Rumors are said to have been circulating in Durham to the effect that Nifong might consider (legally) going after a couple of bloggers; that if he deals with a couple of them the rest will be intimidated and fade away.

This is just a heads up; so that if anything untoward happens, everyone will know about it in advance and be able to make the connection. The rumors are well-sourced.

Liefong got the black vote. The local and state black organizations and church leaders were behind him. They formally endorsed him.

So, they're not rueing the day they gave him the nomination. If they had, they wouldn't have voted him in yesterday.

I understand what you are saying quite clearly. I have followed the Duke case quite carefully and my opinion is that mnost of the Black Folk in Durham are decent people. It is a minority of emotional, harpy, pedantic racists who exploit the MSM and the community to make a "get whitey" movement. Enter Nifong who needs an issue to carry him into office. What better opportunity for this scumbag, than to fan the flames of inter-racial hatred ( Soon none of our black women will be safe, etc.)Most black folk in Durham don't buy it, but there is a certain entertainment value in watching Nifong make the establishment upper class jump through hoops.

I will be surprised if the case ever gets to trial. Most of the evidence is circumstantial, and the DNA evidence, so called, has a very low provenance in terms of admiussability into evidence.

I stand by my statement. The Black folks of Durham are decent folk.And they hardly resemble the collection of firebrand moonbats who have convinced the nation that Jim Crow still inhabits the shadows of the county.

As Nifong said or I read he said: The evidence means nothing, all that matters is a jury that is with you. If I read correctly he will have that jury and the verdict will be guilty no matter the evidence. Several thousand innocent people are convicted every year by prosecutors who care nothing for their oath of "protect the innocent and prosecute the guilty" but just want a conviction.
