Libertarians, Please GO AWAY
Vanity ^ | 11-08-06 | Me

At this link: http://boortz.com/nuze/index.html

Neil Boortz is quoted as saying: "So how did I actually vote when I got that provisional ballot in my hand. Straight Libertarian."

Thank you Neil Boortz. Thanks to you and those who think like you, we now have the Democrats in control of Congress. I hope you and your ilk are very happy.

Free Republic is allegedly a CONSERVATIVE web site. Will you libertarians please go somewhere like Lucianne.com, where you can laugh and smile about how you put the Republicans out of power, and leave Free Republic to the conservatives.

Oh, and one more thing.

Neil Boortz -- GO TO HELL.

Dump the 'greedy anarchists' (always the libs Trojan horse, anyways) and go after the newly disenfranchised 'Reagan democrats'.

There are a lot of Liebermans and Zell Millers out there.

I note your tagline compares President Bush unfavorably to President Reagan, whom I also admired and supported. Please note that President Reagan lost nine Senate seats in 1986 and the Senate majority to the Democrats; he never had a majority in the House. That wasn't all RR's fault, but as I recall he didn't campaign much at all in 1986; not nearly as much as GWB this year, and RR wasn't fighting a hot war at the time. My purpose is not to demean RR at all, but to suggest that we ought to appreciate what leadership we have now a lot more than some do.

Keeping Republicans in office isn't the ultimate aim of conservatives - keeping conservatives in office is. If the GOP can't behave more responsibly than the Democrats, it should expect conservative voters to go elsewhere.

Quick story from my town. The local republicans thought it was so great to let the dems run the town for a while because they would screw everything up and the GOP would sail back into victory. Well, the dems have had scandals, taxes soared, the town IS screwed up but the GOP has now been destroyed. Because the dems play hardball and they work at changing demographics to bring in democrat voters.

Yeah, and big-government Republicans had nothing to do with it, right?

I do wish Boortz would not have been so "dedicated" to principles that are so WRONG for our country.

Like the Constitution, rule of law, and smaller government?

(sarc)Oh heavens, however would we survive...(/sarc)

Boo hooo!

Libertarians didn't lose this election, the Republicans did it all by themselves:

Broken Borders
Socialist Spending
Bad Message on a Strong Economy
Lame assh@les like Hastert and Frist
Delay and his K Street Connections
Foley the Fag
Katrina
Iraq

The fact that someone doesn't like taxes and owns a gun doesn't make them a conservative

No,it makes them an ally. Want the same thing to happen in '08?

Republicans have no one to blame but themselves. PERIOD! I went out yesterday and voted R. I feel like an absolute chump. If the Republicans had done their job, they would have kept both Houses

End Of Story!!!

As a libertarian with substantial overlap with conservative views, I would have happily voted for conservatives. All I saw on my ballot were spineless RINOS.

Besides every since the Cult of Bush got cranking on FR, most of the libbys and paleos have left.

No, its the fact that they value the constitution and individual liberty that makes them conservative. If Repubicans ever want to win back the house and senate, they will start to value these things a little bit more.

If Republicans go looking for someone else to blame other than themselves, they will get the same result in 2008.

Could have written that word for word myself.

Tearing a right and eating their own is what liberals do. Conservatives shouldn't fall into that trap now as well.

Conservatives (of which I consider myself one) have no prospect of political power except throught the Republican Party, and we are very fortunate to have persuaded so many of its membership. When conservatives choose to go elsewhere, they go into the wilderness. I'm sure you recall 1992-2000.

So, it is okay to be on the Free Republic if you are a conversative democrat, republican, or independent, but not a conversative libertarian. I hope the moderators pull this.
