At this link: http://boortz.com/nuze/index.html

Neil Boortz is quoted as saying: "So how did I actually vote when I got that provisional ballot in my hand. Straight Libertarian."

Thank you Neil Boortz. Thanks to you and those who think like you, we now have the Democrats in control of Congress. I hope you and your ilk are very happy.

Free Republic is allegedly a CONSERVATIVE web site. Will you libertarians please go somewhere like Lucianne.com, where you can laugh and smile about how you put the Republicans out of power, and leave Free Republic to the conservatives.

Oh, and one more thing.

Neil Boortz -- GO TO HELL.

Yet the Dems and GOP treat each vote as something they are entitled to instead of something they have to earn.

I've been told that conservatives are careful to maintain their objectivity, and that they avoid being drawn into blindly partisan positions.

Exactly, tell me republicans...do ya'll even believe in small government anymore? Reducing spending/the size of government? Do ya'll have any concept of indivisual rights remaining? I'm trying my best to see what makes ya'll better then the rats but hell, ya'll just as socialist as they are now. Democrats want my money, Republicans want my privacy...I'm pissed, sooner or later they'll get the business end of my gun.

Yeah, I've met your type before.

Apparently not. You can't refute that the President could have stopped, slowed down, or in any other way, shape, or form lead his party in a different direction... but instead played along to get along.

But I'm the one on meds and beating my chest.

Brilliant.

Next you'll say that Constitutionalism, liberty, and freedom are outmoded concepts that we should just do away with. After all, that's what the electorate just voted to do and the GOP could pick up those votes if they just abandoned even MORE of their core principles.

That about sums up your mindless drivel so far...

Ahh you want the President to fight his own Party?

And besides like I said the Dems will just slip in things like food for babies and blankets for unwed mothers and food for starving senior citizens. Then the Dems run to the MSM and they have a month of stories how the Deranged President vetoed a bipartisan piece of legislation that fed babies and starving seniors.

I think you just have no clues how Washington really works.

Tell me that would not happen, go ahead I dare ya. Tell me the drumbeat would not be 24/7. And Repubs would still get hammered. Then we would have had Kerry in 2004, now That would have been fun.

You are the cut off your nose to spite your face crowd.

Why not just send congress critters to congress who won't MAKE the President have to use a vet, they won't let stupid spending by Repubs or Dems in the bills in the first place.

As with Perot, there are plenty of voters who voted third party that would have never voted Dem or GOP. Ever.

Speaking of the little Texan with the Dumbo ears, I can state with my head held high that I voted for Perot in 1992. Why, you may ask? Was I disgusted enough with GHWB to want the Hillbilly Whore-Hopper dirtying the sheets in the White House?

No, I voted for Perot in 1992 because I live in California and was stupid enough to wait until AFTER WORK to go to the polls. Of course, by that time, the "fifth column" (aka the "Fourth Estate" or the MSM) had long since called the election over that year. So, the Perot vote was a "who cares how I vote, I've just been told I don't matter" vote.

Also remember in 2000, when Dan Rather-not called Florida for Gore WHILE THE POLLS WERE STILL OPEN IN FLORIDA? That came too close to being a self-fulfilling prophesy for my liking.

I guess my point here is that how many Montanan GOPers and others in the Western part of the US were disgusted with the early calling of Congress for Nancy and the Dems to not bother standing in line (probably in the cold weather) to vote, figuring their vote didn't count for much?

If Republicans were more like Reagan, Goldwater, and the Founders, most who subscribe to the principles of libertarianism would be the core of the Republican party, not the disaffected fringe.

(And most libertarians, contrary to the straw man rhetoric of the whiners, do NOT want to throw open the borders).

Starving senior citizens? Now you are using socialism to excuse GOP bad behvaior? You are actually a Dem plant aren't you?

Instapundit is a place to book mark, imo.

instapundit

Blame is not helpful. What is helpful is taking responsibility and correcting mistakes. Many social conservatives on this site - just as the originator of this thread - try to push people away. Unless you agree with them 100% of the time - they want to get rid of you. That is not helpful to a political party. The GOP needs to be a party that the country wants to support not a party that is self-righteous and punitive. Conservatism is an important philosophy - but unless conservatism inculdes common decency and courtesey - the majority of Americans will not support it.

Iraq is probably the main reason the country is looking for change. Americans do not like war and Iraq seems to be an endless one. The GOP needs new ideas and more honesty, imo.

Absolutely not! Securing our borders is one of the few legitimate functions of government.

"Thank you Libertarians for helping stab the troops in the back. Next time you have to deal with terrorists, don't call my family, you're going to be on your own."

The troops are the ONLY thing that compelled me to vote R this time around. I think from now on it's Constitution or Libertarian parties all the way baby!

It's clear, Dead Corpse, that your brain is dead if nothing else.

The Constitution is often MISUSED to support various activities that the Founders would never have approved of, much less foreseen.

The claims of Libertarians to be the heroic, lone defenders of the Constitution is both Quixotic, and idiotic.

I'm not bothering with voting. I'm trying to figure out how to survive the coming Dark Ages.

"Alas Babylon" isn't just a novel anymore, it's a reality TV show script thanks to the stab-in-the-back voter bloc. The only thing I can hope for is that they're either in the primary blast radius or in the fallout zone.

"If it's going in the wrong direction...Hayl yes!"

OK use your immagination a second, and then tell me how it would go down in the Main Stream Media.

Put the right people in Congress and you won't have to worry about the President fighting his own party.

Remember people reelected Bush he can't ever be elected again, however the voters tossed the big spenders out. The voters have it figured out, maybe you should pay attention to what happened there.

If voting really made any difference, it would be illegal.

Not hardly. When you have an obstructionist party, living on lies, and a complicit media, we're damned lucky we've made it this far. Double standards, dirty tricks, and an apathetic electorate with no stomach for conflict due to the emasculation of America? Grow up and smell the truth.

I would also prefer you debate the issues, instead of leveling personal attacks.
