You are correct. Unfortunately no RR's appear to be on the horizon. Who besides McNutt is going to have enough national recognition to beat Hitlery? While a McNutt Presidency is repulsive a Hitlery in the White House is a really frightening proposition. If the Rats get the White Hose they are not going to relinquish it again ever short of a civil war. This is not hyperbole but what i see as the sober truth. I don't see the current Pub's with enough guts and determination to fight the kind of civil war without shooting that would be necessary to bring down a rat regime once it has the WH. What will follow has the potentiality for something unseen in the US before. The kind of armed anarchy that was politics in reconstruction states such as La or Ark after the Civil War.
