What we need is a MESSAGE...

A single, uniting, easily delivered idea that doesn't take 5 minutes to explain to the average person of why it's good for them....

Reagan had those visions, so have many others.

And we can no longer live in the bubble of assuming the Netroots leads the way, when in reality it's the MASS MEDIA that does..

The Media may be turning to the blogs for Info and opinion, and even breaking news, but THEY still drive the message that gets through to the sheeple.

And they heard it LOUD AND CLEAR this election, even if it was almost entirely a LIE based on leftist hatred.

We MUST take bold stances for the principles we believe, be it the Border, The War on Terror, the Unborn, Taxes, Government, etc, and damn the Lib Media torpedoes.

We MUST Counter-attack every single time a leftist spews a lie, we must hold the media's feet to the fire of TRUTH, and we must hold people accountable for activities that border on TREASON.

Otherwise, we will be saying "Hello, Madam Dictator" in just two short years from today.

As much as I'd like, I simply cannot do it from a cornfield in Indiana, all alone.

It takes NATIONAL LEADERSHIP, and we better find some soon.....

We got DAMNED LUCKY this time.

If we had faced anything even resembling a competent Democratic Party this time, we would be counting these numbers as a massive victory.

Incompetent Democrats have bred Milquetoast Republicans, bland and careful people who easily got smacked with a big stick because of it.

Will we LEARN FROM THIS? Or will we repeat the same mistakes of allowing the left to control the battle of ideas?

I come away from this debacle with this lesson: The Enemedia still is extremely powerful.

The New Media will be as powerful someday, but we are -- at present -- nowhere near as powerful as NBC, CBS, ABC, and CNN.

[An idiot behind me in line to vote yesterday was telling the guy in front of me that he was voting Dem because "Bush Lied" about Iraq. We KNOW this is a LIE, we HAVE THE PROOF that this is a lie, and yet the Dem Media Machine has driven this point home so often that it is now an accepted FACT...]

This left wing lying about Republicans went unanswered by the Republican leadership who seemed afraid or unwilling to argue effectively.

Teh republicans lost because they proved they are still the party of Trent Lott.

You are right. Growing stones would help. Meanwhile, idiologically, they left me just as the Democrats left Reagan.

Sometimes things have to get worse before they get better.

Just read the book of Revelation...

I don't know why Republicans don't find a way to simply say we have to draw a line in the sand with terrorism somewhere. If we withdraw from Iraq, then what would the Democrats consider as the point at which we would confront them again, prior to their coming here to fight?

I think our country just voted themselves another big terrorist hit.

What we need is a MESSAGE.

the dims won without a plan....without a message. they fielded candidates that could appeal to conservative-leaning voters by appearing to be pro-life, pro-faith, and pro-tax cuts AND anti-war. that apparently was a winning formula.

don't expect pres bush to be too upset with the results either as the white house is already talking about immigration reform which is a pig wearing lipstick and really an amnesty plan and how the chances are better that it will pass with the new congress.

OK...

Let's start saying, whenever we hear a lie coming out of a Democrat's mouth, "Well, that's another Democrat LIE!".

"Bush lied!" -- Well, that's another Democrat LIE!

"No WMD's in Iraq!" -- Well, that's another Democrat LIE!

"No Iraqi's involved in 9/11" -- Well, that's another Democrat LIE!

"Worst economy since Hoover!" -- [I think you get the picture]

I just heard a Democrats on Fox News say, "If the Republicans had a night like we did last night I would be the first to come out and congratulate them, on their victory because the people have spoken"
My question... Where was she in 2000 and 2004?

"Bush Lied" about Iraq. We KNOW this is a LIE, we HAVE THE PROOF that this is a lie, and yet the Dem Media Machine has driven this point home so often that it is now an accepted FACT... "

Do you have any links to the proof, because the Dem Media have lots of links and articles that seem well researched, lie by lie, like this

http://www.motherjones.com/bush_war_timeline/archives/2008/08/bush_war_timeli.html

or this

http://downingstreetmemo.com/timeline/

So id like to see the proof that their proof are just lies, to rebuke them.

Thanks for the post and thanks for your work. I agree with your sentiments. I think we under estimate the power of the national media at our own peril. The media may be a shell of its former omnipotent self, but it still has the ability to create false realities through its 24/7 constant daily barrage of spouting the lies put out by the libs. After a couple of years, it has to have an effect on the otherwise uninformed masses. The truly remarkable performance of the economy following Bush's tax relief initiatives should have been a driving impetus in this election, but the MSM saw to it that such would not be the case.

My own experience at the polls was to listen to some nitwit rave about some nonsense he had read in the newspaper about one of the candidates. He must have repeated "It was in the newspaper" six times, and he made a ten minute wait seem like an hour. It made me nauseous to think that "here is the kind of idiot we depend upon to elect the people hold hold so much power".

Finally, the Republican Party Establishment is to blame as well. If they had done a better job in advancing a conservative, common sense agenda, instead of getting caught up in the trappings of high office and trying to appease the dimocRATS, then this media fueled debacle could not have been possible.

Here is the challenge for the next 2 years--Do not let the dims and the media get away with selling the idea that the Pubbies have to become "more moderate" to win, because the exact opposite is true. They better rally the base or else they will be on the back rows for a long time to come. Turning things over to the dims for any extended period of time will be a disaster.
