You can't be serious. Even if Allen miraculously pulls his re-election out of the fire, his national aspirations are dead.

Win or lose, George Allen's future political career is over. He'll never be anything but Senator again - if he somehow manages to eke a win out (which doesn't look likely).

Unless the lawyers pull out this Senate race, which they most likely won't.....he is toasty.

Gingrich/Allen 2008!

Shooting for the record for lowest vote percentage for a Republican ticket in the history of the country?

I don't know... nominating somebody who couldn't even win re-election I think is risky... And he's a bit gaffe prone too...

If he can't pull out a Senate victory in his own state how could he possibly win? I think Allen is done.

Allen proved himself to be inept.

More like Gingrich-Romney.

Allen is worse off than Kerry as a national candidate.

Do you need attention tonight?

What a ridiculous vanity post.

Why not have two GOP losers on the same ticket, Burns and Allen.

Say goodnight, Gracie.

BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!

The 2008 nomination is Rudy's if he wants to fight for it. Tonight's wipeout helps strengthen Rudy's hand, like it or not. Do you want Hitlery as your next president?

To answer your question literally: Yes, it gives him all the time in the world. He won't be the nominee.

I can see Gingrich, but not Allen. Allen may be a good guy, but he has been "gored".

I'm bringing you a VERY special message from Jim Robinson:

Le ZOTTE: My very IMPORTANT opinion on tonight's debate. VERY IMPORTANT BREAKING NEWS VANITY! MAYO

Posted on 09/30/2004 11:56:49 PM EDT by Jim Robinson
Edited on 09/30/2004 11:57:40 PM EDT by Jim Robinson. [history]

NO ONE ELSE THOUGHT OF THIS SO IT DESERVES A THREAD OF ITS OWN!

I think each and every poster on FR should post a new thread stating his opinion on the debate. This way, instead of having only a few threads with hundreds of posts each (ie, discussion threads), we will have hundreds of threads, each with two comments. One the important opinion, and two, the complaint about vanity posts.

Wow.

He can't win a Senate seat in his own frigging state and he is on top of your Presidential candidates list?

Might as well put Allen/Foley, who knows Foley may carry North East.
