NEW YORK - Faith Hill insists she's no Kanye West. The country music superstar says she was just joking when cameras showed her screaming "WHAT?" in apparent anger when she lost the female vocalist of the year award to newcomer Carrie Underwood at the Country Music Association Awards on Monday night in Nashville.
"The idea that I would act disrespectful towards a fellow musician is unimaginable to me," Hill said in a statement. "For this to become a focus of attention given the talent gathered is utterly ridiculous. Carrie is a talented and deserving Female Vocalist of The Year."

One theory is that she's been looking to distance herself from the country fans (ala the Dixie Twits) and this was a good way to burn that bridge, to allow her to go more mainstream.

I saw the footage this morning on Fox & Friends and believe me, she was expecting to win that award. She even put her arms up in the air and smiled all pretty and Faith Hill-like when they said, "And the winner is...". She KNEW the camera was on her. Then when they announced Carrie Underwood, she turned into some ugly, 40-something liberal, and the rest is history.
There was no joke in what she did. Just another liberal caught showing their true colors.

and what a stupid time and place to make a joke... it was not a joke... she's embarrassed...
once you gots money, I guess any behaviour is acceptable...
that, or that she was molested as a kid by a Catholic priest....that usually will win the day.....
Even if she one, the throwing her hands in the air in anticipation would have showed enough classlessness on its own.
But I guess now she can officially declare herself a "Diva" as one Youtuber put it.
