In Charlotte last year, they let people who weren't in the book cast provisional votes, and if my memory serves me correctly, they later decided to let their votes count ... grrrrrrrrrrrrrr!!!
NC and Charlotte politics have become about as dirty/corrupt as any places in the nation.
We did the early voting thing Saturday and there was a huge turnout ... had to wait in line for almost an hour. Since our county is strongly R (we only work in Charlotte, we don't live there), I hope that's a good sign.
I will have on red slacks, white sweater with US flag on it, my patriotic earrings.
BTW: thanks for the CQ post. It helps confirm what I've been saying for months: The GOP will hold the House and Senate, and it won't be close.
Praying for you, JT and your family!
Take care.
News out of FL made our local news here in TX.
Prayers continue for you.
I walked to the voting booths. Just 2 blocks away. Long, long lines. Lots of griping and complaining. And yet, we were all inside, no one was holding a gun to our heads to vote one way or the other, we have so much to be thankful for.
I wore red, white and blue today. I don't think anyone noticed.
Voting officials claim machines are working fine.
I've done my share of thread killing for the time being. Someone else take over...
Thank-you Sweeties :))
I'll peek in just long enough to rescue you the shame of killing the thread, and hope someone will later step in and rescue me.
Still thinking about what to wear today. I wish I could wear flannel pants and a T-shirt.
Still raining here. I will turn on the radio in a while and see what's up in Marion County. But right now I need a nap!
Barring DemoncRAT shenanigans with court systems, of course.
I just got back from voting and never can understand how people can have problems with the touch screens. My husband explains the procedure as he walks voters to the machine and inserts the card; he asks if they have questions and when they leave, he makes sure the Voted button was hit.
It's drizzly here today but we had a steady stream of people in the Church. Our district is the highest voting district in SC, I think. We consistently vote 75-83% in every election!
Perhaps because it's not a video game or lottery scratch off. Sorry..it had to be said. And another thing...they complain about standing in line to vote , but when it comes to some kind of entertainment...they camp out overnight...go figure!
Voting Machines Woes Cause Early Delays
Of course, the media spent only the last two weeks saying this would happen, and, of course, they cannot be wrong...
I was delighted to see and vote for one of my former students running as a Republican candidate for county commissioner.
Cold (47 degrees) here and the rain makes it seem even colder. The weather has deterred this rural community from voting however. The lady who works at the fire department polling place told me that there were people lined up before the poll opened and there had been a steady and large turnout ever since. You know, it's a shame that we don't turn out to vote as the newly freed Iraqis did and get ourselves a purple finger!
