It's been a fun couple months for those of us who love football in all it's forms.
We are at the halfway point in the NFL with the conclusion of Monday Night's game.
We are at a critical point of the season in College Football where one loss can ruin an otherwise great season for someone.
This is a thread for everyone who loves football to bring in their personal observations about the football season, their debates and anything else you'd like to contribute.
NE wins the Super Bowl?
Not this year if they stink up the joint like they did last night.

My most pleasant surprises are the Bears, of course, the meatheads who pretent to be experts had them at .500 or a little better and it looks as thought the record will be better than last year with great prospects to go all the way.
The next two months will be brutal with 5 road games and two of the home games being division in which records are irrelevant.
Steelers were not that good last year. They got hot for a month and won it all so I am not surprised by their fall. I don't see Seattle beating New Orleans out for the division.
Nor do I see Minn with a playoff berth. Bengals would have won it all last year had Palmer not been hurt and such an injury has got to take time to get over mentally. They could still turn it on the next two months and take the division. Super Bowl: Bears-Colts.
College: I am really happy with the progress the Razorbacks
have made this year and did not expect them to challenge for the SE championship. But they have a real good shot with a great coach, great defense, great running game and good improving qbs. Should wind up in the top ten. I agree about the Big East it has provided some very entertaining games and if it can monopolize New Jersey talent will stay good. Those kids have been going all over the country rather than stay close to home because the teams were bad.
The Ohio State University should win it all even though it has shown some weak spots. I get the feeling that it pretty much coasts through most games so good that there is little challenge. Michigan probably won't beat them. So OSU/Louisville or even Rutgers is a possibility for the big game.
The Steelers just aren't hungry anymore. I think Roethlisberger is just collecting a paycheck at this point. Charlie Batch cares more about winning than he does. They played up to their level of talent in the season opener, then just disappeared.
I don't think the Vikings are as good as advertised, and they're definitely going to acquire a QB in the offseason. They might sign Matt Schaub, or might pull a wacky draft trade move to get Brohm or Quinn. Given that Rick Spielman is their GM, I'm leaning towards the "wacky" option.
The Jets are playing better than I thought they would. It's either a testament to Mangini or a statement about Edwards that they're 4-4. They are definitely looking for a running back in the draft. Mangini probably has dreams about playing the Dolphins with Adrian Peterson in the backfield.
I really want to say the Giants are going to the Super Bowl, but I'm just not sure about Eli Manning. Also, Sean Salisbury changed his Super Bowl pick to Colts-Giants, and I don't want to agree with Salisbury, especially after he drooled over the whole "Manning Bowl Redux in the Super Bowl" thing.
They weren't ready yet with their passing game - PLUS they stunk up the joint with a variety of stuff.
Brady forcing balls, Faulk dropping a TD pass and letting another go by his hands for a game ending pick, Dillon fumbles, Colvin hits someone right in front of the ref, 8 penalties for 81 yards, etc., etc..
Oh, and that kick off coverage sucked again.
Let's see; Bucky stoned Penn State, stoned Minnesota, stoned Purdue, stoned Indiana, stoned Bowling Green at a less-than-neutral site almost as bad as Ohio State did at Columbus, and stoned Northwestern.
Except for Texas, that looks a lot like Ohio State's non-conference schedule.

Quite true, but at least they played Texas, although drawing those guys in the Texas quarterback's first game was fortuitous. Tennessee had the same advantage against Cal this year. Probably lots of other games around the country where you could make the same point. Teams improve a lot during the year, especially those with young skill position guys who are tentative early, but make plays later.
Generally, the Big Ten doesn't play such a horsecrap non-league slate, but it's really ugly this year. Not sure why the shift took place, but it's really bad this year.
haven't they lost their last 2 games? San Francisco? Yea the Bears lost to Miami but they still have a 3 game lead because the Queens are such morons.
Big Ben is about 10 notches above say, CHARLIE FRYE. And Ben has something Charlie can only dream of-----A SUPER BOWL RING!!!!!!!!
1/2 way through the season and much is still left to be decided.
Best Division--AFC West, NFC South runner up AFC North, NFC East follow.
Worst Division---NFC West. Nothing else compares. If Alexander doesn't come back soon, they win 9 and still run away with the title.
MVP(offense)-Donovan McNabb and Steve Smith. Even after 2 bad games, Mc still looks like he has something to prove after last year's disaster. Smith misses first 2 games, Carolina loses both. He returns and they win 4 in a row. 'Nuff said!!!!
MVP(defense)--The entire BEARS D!!!!!
If I'm not mistaken, the O turned the ball over 6 times Sunday. The sick thing about these dudes are for the most part they are very young.
ROOKIE MVP--That's real easy. Marcus Colston. The ultimate steal of the draft. This kid could soon be as good as Steve Smith is now. And they're in the same division!!!!!!
UNDERRATED PLAYER----Colston's teammate, Drew Brees. Also with a much to prove after injury and leaving SD with little success. Now flourishing in a Saints system with lots of youth and miles of potential. Which leads to the 1/2 way point COACH OF THE YEAR----Sean Peyton. If at the beginning of the season anyone that picked the Saints to be any better than 8-8, considering divisional mates that were better on paper(with maybe the Bucs being the exception) were lying through your teeth. At 6-2, these guys are solid playoff contenders and that has to reflect on what Sean has done in a short period of time.
BIGGEST DISSAPOINTMENTS----Steelers and Cardinals. It isn't very often a Super Bowl champ is 2-6 1/2 way through the following season, but injuries, retirements and a D that leaks more than Niagra Falls these days can do that to you. But they'll still beat the Browns twice this year, by double digits both times in fact!!!
The next time I hear that Arizona is a playoff contender is the first time Jon Carry shuts his mouth and doesn't flip-flop about something. They prove that all the talent in the world means crap if you can't produce results on the field, which leads to my last midseason award, THE JIM MORA POSTGAME PRESS CONFERENCE BLOW UP AWARD----Thanks Dennis Green for making a complete buffoon of yourself after the Monday Night debacle. The best part of the whole thing was when the media liason thanked Dennis for his comments as he stormed off stage.
Super Bowl ring doesn't complete any passes for you.
