Rockwell was a gift to this country.

I've heard so called art experts criticize his work but I think there is no artist that ever understood the American Spirit as well as he did.

I found that picture somewhere here, and kept it. I have it on my desktop right now. Great picture. :)

Was he ever. You can safely ignore the so-called "art experts" - especially when you consider what sort of "art" they tend to value. There is a wealth of genuine experience conveyed in this one painting: the pride of a wife and mother, the sacrifice of a soldier, the joy of homecoming, the warmth and safety of a home, the humor and irony of finding simple pleasure in what was once a tiresome task.
