Is Firefox 2.0 a dud?

Firefox 2.0 has been out for a week and the download counter is already well past 2 million.  But a vocal group of Firefox users have generated quite a long list of gripes and grievances regarding this latest release.  Some are even saying that upgrading to 2.0 might not be a good idea.

So what's behind all this?  Here's a quick short list of the most popular Firefox 2.0 gripes:

• Random freezes
• Poor antiphishing technology
• Confused Options dialog box
• Bulky, inconsistent theme
• Incompatibility with extensions
• Memory leaks
• CSS issues
• Buggy history bar

;). And I should have kept reading the thread... I found someone post a fix later. Glad to see they figured it out! I had to guess, but operated like I always do when a normal install on some program makes my pc wacky.

Right now, I'm trying to determine if my periodic cursor freezes on the other computer are related to the v 2.0 install. The bookmark problems happened on that pc as well, not this one, but I've already done the uninstall/reinstall thing so am unsure if I need to just go back to the older 1.5 version on that one.

Question for you: do you have linux and windows on the same pc, or are you talking about 2 different machines?

For myself I keep the machines separate - windows on one and linux on another (actually I have total of 4 machines - 2 of each :))

My mantra? Hardware is CHEAP!
