Foreign-born business owners warned after 2nd home invasion

Police issued a warning today for all area business owners of foreign descent after another west Mobile home was robbed at gunpoint and its occupants held hostage and forced to lie on the floor. Three men forced their way into a home of a foreign born Mobile business owner in the 1000 block of Regal Drive around 8 p.m. Thursday, according to Mobile police.

The men ransacked the house and took an undisclosed amount of cash and other property, police spokesman Officer John Young said in a news release. No one was injured in Thursday's invasion, and the men fled in an unknown direction, Young said.

A similar incident happened Sunday night when three armed, masked men forced their way into a Wesley Court home during a party celebrating the end of Ramadan and held 13 people hostage while they stole money and jewelry, police said.

"All area business owners of foreign descent should exercise extreme caution in their travels and be very aware of their surroundings at all times, noticing any suspicious activities or people in and around their homes and businesses," police said today in a news release.

I'm guessing, from the reference to Ramalamadingdong, that it is mooselimbs who are being targeted and not all non-Americans.

So we drilled it out so that it would fit
And with a little bit of help with an A-daptor kit
We had that engine runnin' just like a song.

Now the headlights was another sight
We had two on the left and one on the right
But when we pulled out the switch all three of 'em come on.

The back end looked kinda funny too,
But we put it together and when we got thru,
Well, that's when we noticed that we only had one tail-fin
About that time my wife walked out
And I could see in her eyes that she had her doubts
But she opened the door and said "Honey, take me for a spin."

So we drove up town just to get the tags
And I headed her right on down main drag
I could hear everybody laughin' for blocks around
But up there at the court house they didn't laugh
'Cause to type it up it took the whole staff
And when they got through the title weighed sixty pounds.

A bit of whimsy of a Friday night, esp since the Cards just won the Series in LESS THAN seven games for the first time since 1944...

Well, heck I know the tune, so I'll let all the DE-TROIT fans sing it among themselves.

And, St. Louis, tomorrow morning, will not have seen fires and general vandalism as DEE-TROIT saw in 1984 (how Orwellian of them, eh?).

This was the owner of a couple jewelery stores in the area. In the first robbery, the perps were described as having an African accent (not African-American).

So? In this case, what seems to have happened is a bunch of thugs broke into a generally innocent family's house and stole from them, considering since they happened to be Muslim that they were fair game or society would be as offended. From what was reported, the blame is firmly on the thugs.

Yeah, we should embrace the religion of peace and hope the best for those that wish to see us dead. I think that a double standard is in order and I don't think that islam should be afforded the same respect and freedom as say, Christianity. That's my honest opinion on the matter and I know it isn't a popular one.

See my note just above. That said, my attitude is that about one-tenth of the Sahara should be set aside as a mooselimb reservation, and open season declared outside it.
