Dance star Moby has launched a scathing attack on Republican Rush Limbaugh after he poked fun at Michael J. Fox's Parkinson Disease symptoms - branding him and other right wing figures as "the most evil people on this planet."
The dance supremo was left fuming after the Republican radio host Limbaugh claimed Fox was "acting" and "exaggerating" the uncontrollable shaking that Parkinson's Disease victims suffer from, following Fox's appearance in a new TV ad for Missouri Democratic Senate candidate Claire McCaskill. An internet segment of Limbaugh's show, sees him mocking the actor by waving his arms, shaking in his chair and laughing.
The singer says, "If there is true evil in the world - it is republican conservatives. They won't stop at anything - not even ridiculing a man with Parkinson's. They are so ignorant it's unbelievable."
OK
Dance star... What a loser.
I have no idea what you mean by this.
That said, I work with a guy from your state. His surname is Gustavson, I call him 'Cheesehead'. And lately I remind him that the Pack is NOT back!
...jla exclaimed without admitting he's a Dallas fan.
Oh, crap, Maboy's pissed at us. We'd better appease him before he starts sending angry psychic vibrations at us.
I also like his music very much. Too bad he's such an ass.
He's a heavy drinking Christian vegitarian.
LOL! Thanks for the Em lyrics.
Moby??? Who or what the hell is "Moby?" LOL
Is Moby still around? I thought that he was on his way to a spot on The Surreal Life; perhaps sharing a bunkbed with Rodney Allen Rippy.
Quintessential fruit loop.
Moby? I thought he was dead. Oh, wait, only his career is.
If Moby is mad then it's a good day....
This guy is a "Christian" in the same sense that Gene Robinson is a "Christian." It's hard to say which of them is more self-righteous.
But now who's Gene Robinson?
The Right Reverend Vicky (Imo)gene Robinson, Episcopal bishop of New Hampshire.
What did Rush do that you don't like? I heard the show where this whole controversy started and I just don't buy the leftist drones lies that Rush is attacking Fox or claiming that he's faking his Parkinsons.
Rush had a lengthy tirade about a totally dishonest ad from the McCaskill campaign in Missouri. He pointed out that the person in the ad lied about the nature of the stem cell debate as well as Talent's position on stem cell research. He pointed out that they conflated embryonic stem cell research, which has shown zero promise for any success, with adult and cord blood stem cell research, which has already produced some very promising treatments. Rush then pointed out that the ad clearly implied that voting for Claire McCaskill would lead to a cure for Parkinson's and voting for talent would end those hopes. He compared it to John Edwards' claim that voting for John Kerry would lead to Christopher Reeves getting up out of his wheelchair and walking.
Rush also pointed out that the Democrats used their favorite technique for these sorts of outrageous hate filled attack ads by employing some pitiful victim as their spokesman. That way no questions of the ad are allowed as that would be "attacking the victim." He cited several examples, such as the "Jersey 9/11 Widows" and Cindy Sheehan.
In this case that pitiful victim was Michael J. Fox, who went public with his disease several years ago and has been pursuing federal funding for research for a cure as well as working on charity events to raise money for that same end. He even testified before congress to try to secure federal funding, specifically for embryonic stem cell research. In order to emphasize his point in that testimony Fox chose to go off of his meds so that his pitiful condition would be visible to the members of Congress and, more importantly, visible to the press covering the hearings. He admitted this in his autobiography.
Rush mentioned this fact as part of his observation that he had never seen Fox quite so bad. He specifically said that he has seen him in interviews where there was much less shaking and weaving, as well as in recent appearances on shows like Boston Legal. He speculated that Fox was either off of his meds or acting. He immediately qualified that by acknowledging the ravages of Parkinsons and that he knows it is a progressive disease. He specifically acknowledged that Fox's condition might have progressed or that this medication might be becoming ineffective. He also expressed sympathy for Fox's condition, but argued that that shouldn't make criticism of Fox's position on this issue off limits from challenge. The speculation about being off of his meds or acting was a minor side issue and put forward as a question with caveats, not the thrust of his argument.
The ensuing controversy and outright lies about what Rush did and did not say about Fox and what he was and was not doing has proved Rush's point. The DBM isn't talking about the lies Fox told. They're talking about a poor victim, of a disease in this case, being attacked by those monster's on the Right Wing who want to kill them or see them suffer. And the nearly universal knee jerk condemnation of Rush, as if what they DBM are saying is what he really said or meant, is truly pathetic. And it proves Rush's point.
So, again, what did Rush do that you don't like? Be specific and please back it up with details other than "he was mean" or "he attacked," because clearly that's the lie put forward by the DBM. We must get beyond that and deal with the issues of their hate filled attack ad where they lied about all Republicans and conservatives and accused us of wanting to hurt all victims of anything everywhere. We must not allow them to exploit victims of tragedies to advance their lies.
OH NOOOOO! Now Moby hates Rush, too. Oh wait a minute. Moby has always hated Rush. Never mind.
Rush does a radio show. Do you understand that "visuals" are not a part of a radio show? Yes, there is a web cam for subscribers, but that is not the thrust of what he was doing, nor was it for "public consumption," by definition.
I do not have access to the "dictocam" (or whatever it is called) and do not know if he did it....IF he did it was in poor taste.
I find it interesting that you choose to call it a "dictocam" instead of dittocam. Sounds like you have some issue with Rush or an agenda here. The only way you could have heard about Rush waving his arms was from the drive by media and the only way you would see it as making fun of Fox's ailment is if you were simply repeating the spin spoon fed to you by them. He was illustrating the types of motions he meant for those who did have the dittocam, not trying to mock them. If you heard what he said then you know when he did this and you would not have any trouble distinguishing fact from leftist hate speech.
Step out of the DBM news bubble. If they say it it's probably a lie. Words to live by.
Rush may be a conservative hero, but he is not imperfect. He admits it himself and moves on. Good advice.
