Angelina Jolie is adopting an Indian baby to add to her growing international brood, according to US reports.
Sources say the big-hearted actress and partner Brad Pitt have already applied to adopt a tot from an Indian orphanage. An insider said: "They hope to be able to bring the child home by Christmas.
"Brad would prefer a boy no older than 18 months to even out the sexes but Angie has told him she can't guarantee she won't fall in love with a little girl."
The source told US magazine Globe: "Whichever they end up with, they'd like to name the child India to honour its homeland." The pair are rumoured to have visited the Priva Darshini orphanage in the last month.
Angelina's first child, five-year-old Maddox, was adopted from a Cambodian orphanage in 2002. And last year she adopted an Ethiopian baby girl - Zahara Marley Jolie - orphaned by AIDS, now 22-months-old.
She and actor Brad Pitt, 42, had a daughter together, baby Shiloh Nouvel Jolie-Pitt, in May 2006. Angelina, 31, has declared that she'd like kiddies from all over the world.
She has said: "I want to create a rainbow family. That's children of different religions and cultures from different countries."
"I believe I'm meant to find my children in the world and not necessarily have them genetically."
Miss Jolie and Pitt have been virtually inseparable since the actor split from Friends star Jennifer Aniston in January last year.
They grew close after appearing in the film Mr and Mrs Smith.
After the birth of their daughter Pitt described fatherhood as the greatest thing he had ever done.
"It's a true joy and a very profound love," he said.
However it was said that the couple were in disagreement over whether they should adopt again, with Pitt wanting to concentrate on the children they have.
Miss Jolie is currently in India with Pitt filming her latest movie A Mighty Heart, about the murder of U.S journalist Daniel Pearl.
She has been pictured with her skin darkened with makeup and her hair tightly curled to resemble Mr Pearls mixed race wife Mariane.
However the role has angered race campaigners who say a genuine mixed race or black actress should have been given the part.
Mr Pearl, a 38-year-old reporter for The Wall Street Journal, was beheaded by Islamic fanatics.
Last night a spokeswoman for Miss Jolie was unavailable for comment over claims she is set to adopt another child.

I prefer that countries that celebrities feel able to wander into and buy children from show some guts.
The only post in favour of these adoptions on this thread really me think was post 15 - the arguement "Would you rather X happened?" doesn't do much for me.
There was some background in Caipirabob's response that made even an Hollywood hating cynic like me admit that there might be something positive in all this.

Uh... Ms. Jolie, unless they are raised in their homelands with their natural parents, their religion will be the religion that you bring them up in, and their culture will be American, just like you. You can't raise them in a culture or religion that you don't belong to. Their brains and hearts are formed by the parents that raise them, not the lines on a map.
And you know what's in her heart? Why don't you spend time cleaning up Londonistan...getting your royal house in order, and explaining the benefits of dental hygiene to your fellow British citizens. You British know that dental braces are an accepted procedure to straighten teeth, don't you?
Gee the process was taking to long in the US for Madonna (who lives in England). Wonder how long she waited. In the YEARS we were dealing with failed adoptions and in the waiting process we saw Rosie, Angelina, Sharon Stone, Calista Flockhart, etc etc etc adopt.
I just keep getting reminded of Joan "Mommy Dearest" Crawford and her adopted children.
Which one will clean the floor, which will cook dinner and which one will entertain the guests?
Answer: the black one, the brown one, the white one.
Hopefully, they won't have any wire hangers around.

And considering that my children were abused and neglected, I owe NOTHING to my children's birth parents.
Nothing.
Most children being adopted overseas would be better off being adopted by a somewhat neglectful, stressed out mother of twenty kids than staying in that orphanage. I don't know anyone who's walked through one who disagrees with that statement, and my kids were actually in very good orphanages - as far as orphanages go.
It is an interesting history, but I should tell you that they do have their share of racism.
My ex-wife is Brasilian and we travelled together to Rio in the early 90's. She's mixed, but not quite mulatta. In certain parts of Copabana where her relatives lived, non-euro latinos had to be careful about which elevator they rode in. As most people had maids in the city, the tendency there was that most maids were of darker pursuasion. If you were darker and rode in the main elevator, you'd likely get yelled at or kicked out by some of the older Brasilians if you didn't have someone who would tear their head off with you. My ex had an experience once, but never worried about it when I was there. She told me about it while we rode up with an elder lady who'd given her "the eye" when we got on.
The older lady kept her mouth shut, which was a good thing, because my ex would have easily torn her a new one. Imagine today if someone told a morena here to sit at the back of the bus or stand? It'd be pretty much the same situation.
Still, Brasil and my friends Paulo e Carlao may try to tell us they don't have racism, but I knew long before what happens down there.
I have lots of stories of the "adventures" of Carlao and every other girl during Carnaval. Now you see him, now you don't... At least the Paulistas were "abundantly" equal opportunity - lol!
In a sense yes! Why go to foreign countries when there are so many here that need homes? Why do people do that? Is it trendy? Does it make them feel better about themselves? I do think there is a problem with adopting children of races other than yours-I'm not racist I just have to wonder if these kids miss out on their culture by having white parents. What's the problem with adopting one of our kids born here - what's the drive to go to another country for one? Are our American babies not good enfu?
Regarding birthparents, I agree in cases of abuse or neglect they are owed nothing. But I guess I was speaking more of an open domestic situation in which the birthparent chooses adoption.
I heard on TV that she was over a year in process for domestic adoption then spoke with Angelina and changed her plans.
What about any of Angelina's adoptions makes you think they are "prop adoptions"
Secondly, I have concerns about Madonna getting around Malawi laws regarding adoption, but that father did put the boy in an orphanage. What did he think was going to happen?
